You can talk about it endlessly, however, as part of a brief excursion, today in our article we will tell a little about only one of its attractions. This is the falcon mountain of Saratov. In fact, the city stands on the highest bank of the river and, like faithful guards, is surrounded by high mountains, which creates an amazing landscape. History
In fact, it is still unknown where such a name came from - Sokolovaya Mountain of Saratov. There are different versions, but it is very noteworthy that the name was so fond of the Russian heart that in the entire history of the city (since about the XVIII century) it has not changed even once. According to some assumptions, a well-known robber named Sokolov lived in these mountains. It was precisely according to his deeds that the people remembered this place, and from time immemorial the name Sokolovaya Gora of Saratov went for a walk. By the way, it remains a mystery whether the city itself had its modern name. There is a version that it happened a little later, around the 19th century.
How to get there
There are just no problems with this. You can go hiking and take a walk. From the city center lies the street of the same name, the end of which is the Sokolovaya Mountain of Saratov. Minibuses with numbers 95 and 94 go along it, so your trip will be short and very pleasant. By the way, you can get to the mountain through two entrances, both of them are facing the city. Therefore, if you took a hiking trip and got into mountain villages, then turn back. By the way, you just need to return to the city center on any passenger bus and ask a passerby where Sokolovaya Gora (Saratov) is located. The creators of the park used it wisely, collecting a real museum. Here you can see more than 180 exhibits, these are aircraft and tanks, guns and missile systems. Moreover, which is very useful for an inquisitive tourist, each exhibit is equipped with a special stand where you can read comprehensive information about his military merits. Judging by the reviews, tourists have their favorite exhibits, to which they relate with special trepidation. This is primarily the legendary Katyusha, the famous Soviet tanks of the war, as well as many other installations.
Tours in Victory Park
