Sevastopol Square was named so in 1990. It was formed from the connection of the territory in front of the western entrance of the Kakhovskaya metro station and the site that combines several streets.
Area Location
Sevastopol Square is located in the South-Western District of Moscow, in the Zyuzino area. The length of the borders is approximately 810 meters. The area is located at the intersection of several streets: Kakhovka, Azov and Bolshaya Yushunskaya. After them follows Chongarsky Boulevard. Not far from it is Simferopol. A little north of this boulevard is Bolotnikovskaya street.
Area Description
Near the Sevastopol Square there are many buildings and structures, but not related to it by numbering. The residential sector belongs to Bolshaya Yushunskaya and Azovskaya Streets. In most of Sevastopol Square there are shopping pavilions. Another significant part is occupied by the green square. At the borders of the square there are several administrative facilities:
- Hotel "Berlin";
- building owned by the private school "Nika";
- ambulance substation;
- Maternity hospital number ten.
Also on the square there is a separate territory for weekend fairs. Nearby stands a high-rise building, built back in 1966. The building houses the Kvartal department store and the Dixie store. Sevastopol Square on the east side merges with a green square, originating on Chongarskaya Street.
Nearby is a 16-story residential building (108 apartments) with one entrance. The house was built in 1968. Next is the housing complex "Azov-2", consisting of 12-, 18- and 24-story buildings with ten entrances. The house was built in 2004, it has 717 apartments. At the bottom of the residential complex are a medical center, offices of some companies and the Magnit department store.
Near Sevastopol Square is an undeveloped area. It is planned to build a new housing complex "Hometown". Sevastopol Square, from the west of which there is a boarding school, has Aivazovsky residential complex at the same borders. A little further are the shopping center "Kakhovsky" and the hotel.
Such an infrastructure is very convenient for tourists visiting the capital of Russia. Sevastopol Square is surrounded by large tracts of vegetation. Green spaces are located in its center.
Sevastopol Square in Moscow: how to get to it?
You can get on minibuses No. 457m, 224m and 198m. Buses with numbers 222, 189, 786 and 218k go to the square. In addition to the listed transport, you can get by metro. The stations closest to the square are Sevastopolskaya and Kakhovskaya.
