The parapet slab is widespread as building structures. Often, building materials use reinforced concrete. It is impossible to do without them during the construction of a bridge, multi-storey building or embankment. Also, reinforced concrete products are used as trim elements and protective fencing.
Reinforced concrete products - what is it?
Reinforced concrete is a building complex material consisting of steel and concrete. Steel reinforcement works in tension, and concrete in compression. The combination of these materials allowed to achieve the following characteristics:
- ease of shaping;
- resistance to active aggressive environments;
- preservation of quality with prolonged use;
- resistance to fire;
- distinctive strength.
Characteristics
Environmental conditions and the place of operation determine the requirements for the quality and characteristics of the material. Porous concrete or expanded clay concrete can be used to reduce the total mass. A parapet plate for the roof of structures and buildings is used. In the presence of complicated operating conditions, it is rational to use concrete of heavy grades having resistance to the influence of external negative factors and a low degree of wear. Often, colored cement is used for decorative work in the arrangement of embankments with reinforced concrete slabs.
For the production of high-quality boards, an important condition is the conformity of technical conditions and product properties, as well as strict adherence to established standards. Concrete for manufacturing must have a compressive strength class of at least B15. Mandatory treatment with sulfate - resistant Portland cement, if the parapet is used in difficult conditions.
The meaning of the markings
Traditionally, the reinforced concrete plant indicates the following data on the plate marking:
- material of manufacture;
- form factor is a division into products from porous fillers or from heavy concrete;
- compressive strength marker;
- dimensions - thickness, length and width.
Creation of the required rigidity
Reinforced concrete parapet is hardened using high grade wire with corrugation or hot rolled fittings. The reinforcement parts located outside the concrete (which is possible only with certain design data) are coated with a special anti-corrosion compound. Products with different weights and dimensions are sold, and deviation from the established sizes by more than 3 mm and 5 mm, respectively, for thickness and width is not allowed. Additional hydrophobic treatment is used to protect parapet elements exposed to water.
The precast concrete plant can be used for filling perlite concrete, expanded clay concrete and a heavy type of concrete to create a practical and high-quality construction, the service life of which will be more than one decade.

Types
There are two options for parapets: solid of natural stone and reinforced concrete slabs. They look great in tandem with metal grilles and allow you to create a unique look. - docking seams are filled.
Application
Reinforced concrete products have a specially created form, thanks to which water flows to one side. In addition, a small groove is located on the lower part, forming a water drain.
Such materials are often used in panel structures, for example, when creating reinforced concrete ramps that require protection from debris and atmospheric precipitation. There are options with a ribbed plane, the plates are flat and ordinary.
Use in roofing
A classic element of flat roofs, including the inversion type, is the roof parapet, and can also be mounted on a pitched structure. Their functional significance lies in creating the required security for people who are on the roof. Also, the parapet plate acts as a decorative element.
The upper part of the parapet is pitched and flat. There is the possibility of creating custom size custom size. Mounting crutches are used when installing an apron made of steel, in places of fastening, processing with silicone special sealant should be carried out. When placing the parapet on concrete slabs, tight sealing of the existing joints and the junction node is required.
