Most likely, this look will be fleeting, since a citizen of the Russian Federation is almost certainly too young to have his own offspring. And so, several years pass, a young family has a child, and at the same time there are so many problems that parents simply do not have time to find out some questions. And they will certainly be. Adding children to the passport: how it was before and how now
Until 2007, a mark on children was affixed to the registry offices. However, at present they do not have such powers, and in order to enter the child in the passport, you must contact the local migration service.

Who enters the passport of children

As a rule, the procedure takes place immediately, within one working day. However, there are exceptions - sometimes they can pick up a passport for several days. When contacting the FMS, this point must be taken into account, and if you need a document every day, it is better to wait a bit.
How do children enter their father’s passport if he cannot personally come to the FMS? With this, as a rule, there are no problems. In the passport of the absent parent, father or mother, you can enter the child by proxy from the owner of the document.
You can enter only minor children. For example, when replacing a passport at the age of 45, no one will write in a new document a child who has reached the age of majority, even if it was recorded in the old certificate.
In the regional office of the FMS, you can put a mark on the children in the passport. Such an entry is made in the old passport and can be affixed throughout its validity period. However, if the child has reached the age of 14 years, then he needs to receive a personal document.

1. If the mark on the child is in the passport of the parent who is a resident of a foreign country, then the second one will not be put on it.
2. If the child’s passport is not in the passport of the parent who is a resident of a foreign country, then the column “Children” is filled in for the second parent.

Why do I need to enter children in my passport
Most citizens are not concerned about how children are entered in a passport, but about why, in fact, this should be done. After all, no one forces them to do this, so most of the population prefers to think that such a record will never be needed.
However, this is not quite true. There are a number of cases where you may need it, for example, a mark is definitely needed when a child writes to your passport.
