Every year, Japanese and German, Chinese and Russian, Italian and Ukrainian firms roll out large-scale new copies of tanks, automobiles and aircraft to the market. It is unclear to uninitiated people why homemade airplanes are needed, when there are prefabricated models and even ready-made models of very good quality. But still there are cases when a person who is keen on modeling, most often, a collector wants to get a copy that no manufacturer does. Usually this desire arises among experienced modelers who possess such skills that make it possible to "pile" a very rare thing.
Needless to say, the realization of such a dream requires a wide variety of technical and artistic skills. You need to be able to read blueprints, own locksmith and turning tools, and sometimes machine tools, be fluent with airbrushes and brushes. Homemade aircraft, like real ones, require patience and delicacy in all operations. Particular care is required when performing the dashboard, pilot's seat and controls. Materials should completely imitate the surface of the skin and matter. For example, toilet paper is used to create a fabric texture. It lays well on the desired areas and is easily painted, while maintaining a naturalistic roughness, and if necessary, then folds can be formed on it.
The modeler takes the first time for a makeshift airplane, as a rule, not from a good life, but simply because of a lack of initial set, but then, getting a taste, he gets various useful equipment, right down to a small lathe - and then he can no longer be stopped. After all, it’s practically impossible to find such a prefabricated model that has wings folded, like a deck attack aircraft of the Second World War, but I want to do just that!
