In Skyrim, as in Oblivion, elven bows are small arms that inflict medium damage on the enemy. They can be found or created in the forge in the early stages of the game. How to do this will be discussed in this material.
Where to find elven bows
This type of small arms will begin to appear in the game as soon as the hero reaches level 19 of development. But at this stage only ordinary elven bows can be found. And only after level 20 will you find an already enchanted weapon. Where to look for an item:
- The bow can be found in a random cache, container or chest of different locations of Skyrim.
- Weapons are removed from the bodies of dead Talmor Justicars and random opponents.
- One copy lies in the window of Yorrvaskra (castle level "Expert").
You can find the unique elven bow “The death of Firiniel” when completing the quest “Until death do us part”. You will receive this quest from the Dark Brotherhood. The item has all the usual properties, in addition, it has an effect with cold damage. The weapon is hidden on the balcony, to which the door leads, located to the left of the entrance to the Temple of the Gods (Solitude). Please note that prior to the quest you will not find the item in this place.
Elven bows are sold by blacksmiths and merchants. For the purchase of such an item you will spend 470 coins, with the pumped skill "Eloquence" the price will decrease. But if you do not want to part with gold, then create a weapon yourself. This will be discussed in the next chapter.
Do it yourself
To make a bow yourself, first pump the Blacksmithing skill to level 30. In addition, in the branch of this skill, you must open the ability "Elven abilities." To create, you will need the following components:
- 2 peeled moonstones;
- 1 bar of mercury ore.
You can buy these materials from traders or "dig" out of deposits. After receiving the item from the forge, do not forget to improve it on the Grindstone. To do this, you will need another peeled moonstone. If you want to make the received elven bow more powerful, then take it to the pentagram of souls. And enchant it as you wish.
How to instantly get an elven bow in Skyrim
If there is no desire to search or create this weapon yourself, then you can get it using cheats. To do this, open the game console with the “~” key. In the field that appears, write the following line: player. additem 0001399d (number of items). Brackets do not need to be specified. After that, all “ordered” elven bows will appear in your inventory.
Small arms at Oblivion
In this part of the game, creating elven bows in the Forge is impossible. Therefore, you will have to run around locations to find weapons. You can find it in random chests or game caches. But for this, your hero must reach at least the ninth level of development.
You can buy elven onions from merchants for 360 coins. This will become possible after your hero is pumped to level 12. If you don’t want to spend gold or study locations, you will receive small arms using the console command. To do this, launch the game and press the "~" key. In the menu that opens, write the following command: player. additem 000229BF 1. After that, the elven bow will be added to your inventory.
