Perhaps his idea was not bad and pretended to be something more than a pass-through product, but the implementation seriously let us down - in Pineview Drive the passage will tire you much earlier than we would like and will not help any horrors.
Plot
As you know, in high-quality horror films, the game process itself is not so important as the atmosphere itself, history, immersion in the game world. In Pineview Drive, passing spoils almost everything: you get a rather interesting story that could pretend to be something impressive and exciting, if not for the gameplay, which obviously does not pull on the 2014 project. So what do you have? Your main character is a widower who twenty years ago came to a country house in Pineview Drive with his wife, but she incredibly disappeared. Twenty years passed, but she never returned, and all this time your hero was tormented and could not find rest. And so, after such a long time, he decides to visit this house to solve the riddle of his wife’s disappearance, to face his fears, and also to understand what is happening inside, where no one can live more than a month and leaves in horror . A wonderful story that could be turned into something incredibly exciting and really scary. However, in Pineview Drive the passage does not represent anything, and on one story the game could not leave.

You go into the house and immediately encounter paranormal forces that are clearly not too friendly towards you. The whole game lasts exactly thirty days, during which you will need to escape from various horrors, look for more and more secrets that the mysterious house hides. It sounds, of course, impressive, but in fact, everything is much worse. Perhaps if this game was written in flash and took not thirty days, but three, it would be much more impressive. But a lengthy narrative that does not bring anything new every day is not the best decision that the developers of Pineview Drive could make. The game is not addictive and does not carry away, but what could be worse for horror?

So, you find yourself in a house in which a terrifying atmosphere reigns - gradually spirits begin to show their presence. And that makes it pretty scary. But we will talk about horrors a little later - now the important thing is how you will go through the Pineview Drive. The game, unfortunately, cannot offer you a huge variety of actions. From the very first day until the last, thirtieth, your main occupation will be the search for various keys that open chests, doors, and so on. All this will be accompanied by small additional actions, which are so few that they can hardly even brighten up the gloom of what is happening, as well as various horrors that are trying in every way to extend the game to at least some decent level. However, it is useless - the passage of the Pineview Drive game can scare you, it can drag you into its atmosphere, but all this quickly passes, again and again exposing the monotonous wandering in identical rooms, identical tasks that require you to do the same - find another key that will open the next a door behind which there will be ghosts and a new key.
Fears
Along with the atmosphere, which at least somehow brightens up everything that is happening, one can note the realization of horrors, which “invigorate” the passage a little. The game has various screamers, creepy moments and really scary ghosts that you can be scared of. But, unfortunately, this does not occur too often, there is no variety in the game, so in the end even the horrors that exist are no longer encouraging.
Is it worth it to go?
The modern gaming industry creates daily several games of various genres, including horror. However, unfortunately, most of the projects are far from the highest quality, so they are quickly forgotten. Most likely, the same fate awaits Pineview Drive. Feedback from users and critics is not impressive, the average rating tends to 30 points out of 100, so this game is likely to be forgotten pretty soon. If you have already played all worthy horror movies, but still want something new, then you can try to go through all 30 days of this project. But nevertheless, you’ll only be upset that the developers “buried” such a good idea, giving out such a terrible implementation. But one more masterpiece could turn out, of which there are not so many in this genre.
