In the last weeks of December, more and more people begin to prepare for a good and cheerful holiday. Someone comes up with unusual decorations for the Christmas tree, someone invents recipes for New Year's salads, and someone seriously takes up the design of the apartment. Today we will tell you how to make a house of salt dough with your own hands and decorate it in the style of the upcoming holiday.
Salty dough
This material is familiar to many craftswomen from childhood. It makes amazing home decorations, figures of people and animals, bright gifts and colorful souvenirs. You can make such a dough very quickly, using at the same time a minimum of inexpensive ingredients. Take one glass of fine salt, two glasses of flour and one glass of warm water.
Combine all the ingredients so that you get a firm and elastic dough.

Making the foundation
Roll out the dough using a rolling pin. You should get a thin and even layer 3-4 mm wide. Take a small cup of yogurt, moisten its walls with water and carefully wrap the base in the dough. Using a clerical knife, align the protruding edges and remove any excess. For the roof you can use various materials: paper, cling film or foam. Make a cone of the desired size, dangle it with layers of dough and place it on the very top of the structure.

Use a toothpick or stack to make the walls look like brickwork. Separately roll a few pieces of dough for the door and window. Draw details of any shape on them and make shallow cuts with a spatula to create an imitation of boards. If you wish, you can make crossbars, handles, platbands or shutters for them. If you want to give volumetric texture to the details, then rub the colorful pieces on a fine grater and fix them on the walls or roof. From them you can make a red coat of Santa Claus, a prickly Christmas tree or a fluffy hare.
The final stage
