Phuket in the Andaman Sea is Thailand 's largest island . Since tourists from all over the world come here over the sea, sun and sand, the logical question arises: "Where is the best place to book a hotel so that the best beaches of Phuket are at your side, and not thirty kilometers?" The answer to this question is problematic, because it depends on what you mean by the expression “perfect beach”. Purity? Crowd? Entertainment? The presence or absence of waves? Smooth or steep entry into the sea?
Of no less importance is what time you arrive in Thailand. From May to September, the western monsoons blow here - and large, ocean waves begin to roll onto the beaches of Phuket. The composition of vacationers in the “off season” is fundamentally changing: mothers with children disappear and pumped-up young men appear who arrived in this very dangerous time for swimming in order to “ride” the waves. The best for surfing in Phuket are the beaches of Surin and Bang Tao. This last one is the longest on the whole island - 8 kilometers. It is safe to swim here in high season, although the west wind blows constantly and the excitement is observed even in winter.
At the western end of the island, a highway runs right along the promenade, so often even the best hotels in Phuket are located on the “second line”, and this fact should be taken into account for those bedriddies who are too lazy to walk fifty meters to the sea. The first line can be found in the south, on the beach of Nai Harn, but the places here are sparsely populated, for entertainment you will have to go to the west coast of the island.
Even the finest snow-white sand can ruin a strong ebb,
exposing ugly gray rocks. There are places where the sea in the daytime runs a hundred meters! In order not to have to wander through the mud for ten minutes in order to get to the water's edge, you should choose the beaches of Phuket, where the Moon does not manifest itself so much or the ebbs occur at night or in the evening. In Patong, Kamala, Karon or Kata, seasonal sea level fluctuations are almost invisible as the bottom sinks steeply. But this circumstance forces parents to keep an eye on the
bathing children!And finally, what do you expect from a beach holiday - entertainment (all kinds of water bikes, "bananas", skis) or solitude (so that there is only the sea, the sun and you)? The beaches of Phuket provide in this regard the most diverse choice. Patong (or the "banana forest" in Thai), in fact, does not imply any bananas and forests. Patong Resort is called "mini Pattaya", because the show
transvestites, and go-go-bars, and strip clubs, and similar institutions are found here at every step. The results of a vibrant nightlife affect the cleanliness of the beach. Although the length of four kilometers allows you to find clean corners here.
To the north of Patong, Kalim begins, and to the south - Karon, the best beaches of Phuket. They are cleaner than Patong, and at the same time there is quite developed tourist infrastructure, and many restaurants and hotels. For Karon Beach begins Small Karon (Karon Noah). It is good here in the season, but strong currents begin in April - and therefore people often die here. Kata and Kata Noah are famous for their fine and crunchy sand under their feet, like snow. An ideal, wonderful place for a family vacation and no debauchery, as in Patong. It is also a favorite resort for divers and snorkelling enthusiasts, because the water here is clear and there are no waves even during off-season.
