Recently, the summer variety of pears, which was bred by S.P., is gaining popularity. Yakovlev. To obtain it, the red-cheeked pear and the northerner pear were crossed. The experiments were conducted at the I.V. Michurin All-Russian Research Institute of Horticulture of the Russian Agricultural Academy. The new variety is most interesting for areas of the middle lane, in the future the pear "northerner Krasnoshchekoy" can replace other varieties of pears in a number of regions. Pear "northerner" - a fast-growing tall tree with a broad pyramidal crown, due to the high shoot-forming ability, it tends to thicken, branches grow from the
tree trunk at an acute angle. The bark on the skeletal branches and the stem is brown, smooth. During fruiting, the prevailing type of fruit forms are simple gloves. The leaves of the pear “northerner” are narrow with a glossy surface. Shoots of medium thickness, brown, not pubescent, slightly curved, slightly articulated. The pear has a northerner saucer of medium size, white flowers with whole weakly closed petals, located on a long peduncle. The flowering period is quite early, but later than spring frosts. Flowers have high frost resistance.
The fruits are oval, the surface is smooth, the size is below average, a high level of one-dimensionality. At the time of removable maturity, they have the main light yellow color with a brownish integumentary color for the most part. During storage, the main color is light yellow. The peduncle is set straight, it is medium in size, not thick. The heart is medium, has an elliptical shape, the cameras are open, medium. Seeds are large in size, ovoid in shape, have a brown color. The flesh of a semi-oily consistency without stony cells is slightly
creamy in color, has medium density, juicy and tart, with a sour-sweet taste, the aroma is mild.
The chemical composition of fruits includes: sugar - 9.4%, titratable acids - 0.75%, ascorbic acid - 7.0 mg / 100g, catechins - 46 mg / 100g, arbutin - 3.81%, pectin substances - 0, 64% The fruits reach maturity by mid-August, the period of use and consumption lasts up to two weeks. Ripening dates follow the ripening fruits of the pear "early ripe Michurinsky" and pears "northerner red-cheeked." The taste is somewhat lost during storage. The fruits are quite transportable. Very good for processing. Due to the low degree of self-pollination, trees need pollinators, for which the "memory of Yakovlev" variety is best suited.
After
planting, the trees bear fruit in the fifth year. They have annual regular fruiting, the yield of eight-year-old trees is about 120 c / ha. Has a high winter hardiness pear variety "northerner".
The advantages of the variety, in addition to high winter hardiness, include early maturity, resistance to fungal diseases and scab, an attractive type of fruit. The disadvantage of the variety is the small size of the fruit.
