Due to the fact that the road was built from two sides, a characteristic crack appeared in the vicinity of the current Uprising Square.
After the construction of bridges, the road quickly became popular. At the beginning of 1716, by decree of Peter the Great, a bridge was built "on the Fontannaya River in perspective." The police drawbridge was built according to the recollections of eyewitnesses somewhere in 1717-1720, and later it served as the city border, on which they collected tribute at the Mytnaya Dvor, next to the Gostiny Dvor.
After April 20, 1738, the city planning council of St. Petersburg decided to name the road "Nevsky Perspective." And the name "Nevsky Prospect" was fixed only in 1783.
