The special forces "Vityaz" is a division of the internal special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, which was created with the aim of fulfilling particularly important tasks in conditions of increased danger. In the 70s, due to the threat of terrorism in several European countries, the Ministry of Internal Affairs decided to create a special squad to ensure security in Moscow at the Olympics. Such a task was assigned to the commanders of the motorized rifle division named after Dzerzhinsky.
