The combination of white, red and green is found on a variety of panels and in each case hides a special meaning. Which countries use such symbols and what do they invest in it?
Bulgaria
The modern banner of this state has a traditional rectangular shape with an aspect ratio of two to three. Three stripes cover the flag - white, green, red. The first is a symbol of freedom and peace, which is especially important for a country with such a long road to sovereignty. The second is the wealth of nature, forests and mountains, the importance of agriculture. Finally, the third, red color, symbolizes the courage of the patriots who died for independence. The colors are in the same order in which they are listed.

The banner of the militia, using the same tones, was taken as the basis for the modern standard. It also depicted a coat of arms. In 1861, a variant similar to the modern one began to be used, but the colors went differently - the top was green, then white, and then red. This tricolor became a symbol of the Bulgarian Revolutionary Committee, and in April 1879 it was officially approved. In 1947, the arrangement of flowers was changed to a modern one, and the shade of green became cold emerald instead of warm grass.
Iraq
Answering the question whose flag is green, white, red, we can mention this eastern country. The cloth of the Republic of Iraq was officially approved in January 2008. It is a traditional tricolor - a horizontal flag. Green, white, red and black are located on a rectangle with an aspect ratio of three to two. Shades refer to the first version of the banner, adopted in 1920. Then the tricolor was black, white and green. The flagpole was an isosceles triangle.
Now the upper stripe is red, the middle one is white, and the bottom one is black, in the center there is a green inscription in Arabic script, which says that "God is great." The appearance of this version was the result of several military coups and the rise to power of Saddam Hussein. However, after its overthrow, the parliament made some changes to the canvas, creating a modern look of the symbol used in all government institutions of the country.
Italy
One cannot but mention perhaps the most famous European flag. White, green, red stripes of the Italian standard are familiar to tourists from all over the world, they are associated with dishes of national cuisine and many other significant things. The symbolism used boasts an impressive history - it has been used for more than two hundred years. They decided to create a flag whose white, green, red stripes would be vertical, in the parliament of the Cisalpine Republic in the north of the country. This combination of colors was suggested by Giuseppe Companioni. For the first time, a new banner was raised in 1797 in the kingdom of Emilia. During the wars with Napoleon, the same colors were used on the panels of the Lombardy Legion, because they had long been associated with it. This combination was also present at Milan symbolism. A red cross on a white background served as a coat of arms, and a green cross was used to form the local guard. In the modern flag, each color has a different meaning. Green is associated with hope, white is associated with faith, and red symbolizes love. However, such an interpretation cannot be called official, but Italians do not have another. According to the law, an impressive fine of one thousand euros is imposed for abuse of the flag, and ten thousand for the destruction of it.

Iran
The answer to the question, which flag is green, white, red, maybe one more. The Islamic Republic of Iran has a rectangle-shaped panel whose width refers to a length of four to seven. The country has a horizontal flag. Green, white, red are used in equal proportions. Shades used to be associated with three classes. The clergy represented white, the military represented red, and the farmers represented green. In the center of the tricolor was an image of a lion with a sword in its paws, symbolizing Persia. The Islamic Revolution of 1978 led to the replacement of the animal with the inscription "Allah" with four crescents and a sword. A stylized phrase βGod is greatβ, woven twenty-two times, is inscribed in the edges of the green and red stripes. The number is associated with the date of the revolution on the Iranian calendar.
Madagascar
It is worth mentioning this original flag. White, green, red stripes are the only components of the panel. Two go horizontally, and one vertically. Red and green occupy two thirds of the width. Vertical white is the rest. The colors of the flag are associated with the symbols of the Kingdom of Merin, which is the main ethnic group and was previously conquered by France. Red and white were located on the last banner of the monarch - Queen Ranavalona the Third. Green recalls the Hov tribe, which were peasant communes and important participants in the anti-French liberation movement. The official flag of the independent republic was adopted in October 1958 and has remained unchanged since then.
