All parents know that children should be transported by car in special safe seats. But is it really that all the seats that are sold provide a high degree of this very safety? If you want to give your child maximum protection, then choose devices that have an Isofix mounting system.

This design appeared in the 90s of the last century. Until this tipping point, all the seats for children were held on ordinary car safety belts, therefore, in case of an accident, this device did not at all insure the baby from injuries. It was necessary to come up with a mechanism to rigidly connect the car body and the child seat.
Any methods of fixing with belts, even very complex ones, did not give the desired effect. And parents often got confused and as a result installed a wheelchair with violations.
The “isofix” fastener, by its appearance, saved adults from long fuss with a tangled web of straps. And the whole secret lies in two steel and very durable frames that are on the back of the car seat. They cling to the corresponding clips mounted on the car body. The result is a single, highly reliable design.
How the isofix mount works
What is it, we, in general, figured out, and now we will dwell in more detail on how this whole system works.
First of all, before buying the seat itself, make sure there are special brackets on your car. Recently, almost all models of machines are equipped with them. This is indicated by marking at their locations. Sometimes manufacturers put on top on bright staples (usually red) plastic caps. But if you're still not sure, just stick your hand in the gap between the back seat and backrest. Got something? These are metal holders.
Now let's look at how the Isofix mount looks on the armchair. At its base (behind) are two steel hooks. They are located on the left and, accordingly, on the right.

install a child seat, you must do a very simple procedure. Hooks hook on the brackets. Click. Done. The whole process takes some minutes. And there is no risk to confuse something.
For especially suspicious parents, the Isofix mount is available with a special indicator. If the lock is locked, the indicator shows a green bar. If the device’s tab is not fully latched, its red part will be visible on the indicator.
To clean such car seats is a pleasure. It is only necessary to press the buttons that are responsible for the unlock function of the locks.

All chairs are divided into appropriate age categories. The tiniest is the infant carrier. It is not customary to install an Isofix mount directly on them. It is supplied with a special base. We cling the base to the brackets, and on top of the locks the armchair for the baby is fixed.
