DIY butterflies - beautiful and simple!

In recent years, decorative nylon butterflies have gained great popularity. You can buy them at souvenir and florist shops, and even more interestingly, do it yourself. The technology for making this craft is so simple that even a child can handle it, so mother-needlewomen can decorate their home with light air butterflies made with their babies.

Do-it-yourself butterfly

Today we will consider what is needed to make this cute element of decor and how, in fact, butterflies are made with their own hands. To get started, we will prepare the materials and tools that will be needed in the process.

We need:

- aluminum or copper wire , quite thin and flexible;

- kapron tights, you can use the worn out;

- Aniline dye for synthetic fabrics (if the color of kapron does not suit you for some reason);

- An old pencil or tube for a cocktail;

- Moment glue helium or silicone gun;

- a needle with a thread of a suitable color;

- clerical glue with sequins or sequins.

Before starting work, kapron can be painted in the desired color and dried.

Depending on what size butterfly we will have, you need to choose a rigid form for the manufacture of wings. You can take a glass, a glass jar and even a large pot if you are going to make a butterfly costume with your own hands. We wrap the wire around the shape, fix the resulting circle with two or three turns of wire and repeat the same action to get “glasses”. We need two pieces of such blanks to make wings. Any shape can be given to them, but sharp corners should be avoided so that the fabric can uniformly fit the resulting frame.

Do-it-yourself butterfly

Do-it-yourself butterflies are most easily obtained from kapron, but you can use any thin knitted fabric that is easily draped. With the prepared rag we tighten the blanks and fix the fabric with thread around the base of the wing. The excess material is carefully trimmed and connect the upper and lower pairs of wings with several stitches.

The "body" of our craft should close the seams and give it a finished look, so you need to calculate its correct size. To do this, take a pencil or tube and cut off a fragment of the desired length. We wrap the workpiece with scraps of fabric, apply the top layer gently and glue it. So that the antennae appear on the butterfly, we pass a small piece of wire over the edge of the body and fix it with glue. You can give any shape to the antennae, and decorate the tips with beads or sequins.

Glue the finished body to the wings, then let the craft dry well.

DIY butterfly costume

Now that our butterfly, made and assembled with its own hands, has all the details firmly fixed, you can add sparkle and originality to it.

Depending on your imagination, you can paint the wings with glue with sparkles or stick beads and beads on them.

If it’s a New Year’s costume, from the underside of the wings you need to sew two loops of elastic gum so that you can put the wings on your shoulders like a backpack.

We attach the hairpin to the metal duck with glue or silicone so that the metal is not visible from under the product.

For decorating curtains, it is best to use magnets that also adhere well to the fabric.

I think you are convinced that a butterfly with your own hands is not only simple, but also very exciting. Have fun with your crafts!
