Penofol is a truly unique building material that has no analogues in the world market. Only he can combine such characteristics as sound and thermal insulation. This material is also called a new generation of insulation with a reflective effect. Penofol base consists of
foamed polyethylene, the surface of which is covered with polished aluminum (in other words, foil). The foil can be coated both on one or both sides of the material. What kind of
foamfoil insulation has technical characteristics and how is it unique?
Penofol versatility
This material is very popular in the market because it can be used as insulation, for noise insulation and as reflective insulation in indoor and outdoor rooms. Moreover, due to its high technical properties of noise absorption, it is also used in the automotive industry. Most often, penofol is used as a βnoiseless noiseβ on the doors of domestic cars.
Material advantage
In addition to the fact that this material can be used in three industries at once, it has a number of other advantages. The first plus relates to durability. In fact, penofol has an almost unlimited service life.
Also, due to its lightness and flexibility, it is very simple and quick to install. What is more interesting penofol? Technical characteristics and composition of this material involve the use of exclusively environmentally friendly materials. Due to this, it withstands high temperature differences and does not lose its insulating properties for several years.
Penofol: characteristics and classification
At the moment, several groups of this material are known:
- "A" is the most popular type of penofol. It is characterized by a one-sided aluminum coating.
- βBβ is no less popular material on the Russian market. It differs from the first one by the presence of a double-sided aluminum coating.
- βCβ - the same penofol of group βAβ, only on the reverse side has a self-adhesive coating.
- "M" - with a relief structure and a one-sided foil coating. Like all previous options, it has high noise and thermal insulation properties.
- "R" - material with a 2-sided coating.
- "ALP". It has an extraordinary composition - on one side of the material foil is used, on the second - a polyethylene layer with a laminated coating.
Possibilities of the Penofol material
The characteristics of this insulation exceed the qualities of many modern analogues. And even today, with a huge assortment of construction products, there will probably not be such a material that would organically combine all the qualities and the above advantages.
Application area
The range of use of penofol is very wide, which is fully explained by its optimal technical characteristics. In construction, it can be used for:
- insulation of ceilings, roofs, walls, basements, attics and attics. As practice shows, the use of penofol saves up to four percent of the heat. In addition, this material prevents the possibility of moisture formation on the surface, providing excellent vapor barrier;
- pipeline isolation in heating and water supply systems;
- insulation of windows and doors. Ingoda with penofol is glued to the part of the wall where the battery is located. This is done to improve the heat transfer properties - hot air is not absorbed by the cold wall, but goes to the center of the room.
Also, this material can be found in ventilation, sewage, air conditioning, automotive and industrial sectors (food, gas and oil refining). Basically, they paste over technological equipment. Penofol even found its application even in the army - here they are pasted over with ammunition boxes and navigation devices.
Material cost
The price of this insulation depends on two factors:
- material thickness;
- the group to which penofol belongs.
The thickness characteristics of the insulation belonging to group βAβ may be different. There are 3, 5 and 10 mm sheets of penofol. The cost for each of them is 45, 58 and 90 rubles per 1 square meter, respectively.
Insulators of group "B" can have a thickness of 5 and 10 millimeters. In this case, from the Russian market for 1 square meter of such material will have to pay from 80 to 120 or more rubles.
The most expensive insulation is considered to be self-adhesive penofol. Due to the fact that on one side it has a self-adhesive structure, and on the other it is covered with foil (accordingly, a more sophisticated production technology is used), the cost for it can reach 130-190 rubles per 1 square meter. So, we examined what penofol characteristics are, and also found out its cost.
