It was installed in April 1975 at the memorial cemetery. This touching and at the same time majestic sculptural composition is visible from afar, because its height is about 10 meters. The bronze female figure froze in inescapable grief for her sons and daughters, who were killed on the front roads. The sorrow and despair of the image are masterfully emphasized by a very speaking detail, which was successfully invented by the sculptor Yakubenko: in the hands of Mother is a flower that she seems to drop now. It is clear that the monument symbolizes the Motherland, blessing its people for a great feat in the name of Victory.

Listing the monuments of the Great Patriotic War in Perm, one cannot fail to mention the monument under the speaking name “To the Heroes of the Front and Rear”. It was installed on the Esplanade - a large open space between Leninsky and Peter and Paul Streets. The authors of the project are architects and sculptors V. Klykov, R. Semirdzhiev and V. Snegiryov. The monument consists of three figures - a female and two male figures holding a shield, a sword and a gun. They personify the unity of the people who have risen to fight the enemy, the glorification of his deed. The Esplanade is also home to the first color music fountain in Perm.
