Humming a provocative little song in the recent 80s, “La Cucaracha, La Cucaracha ...”, perhaps few people thought about the meaning of this word. It turned out to be very easy to define kukarache, and the answer lies in the song itself.
About a song with the same meaning
Literally from the Spanish "cucaracha" - this is a cockroach, but the designation of this word has nothing to do with heat-loving insects. To find out what "cucaracha" is and what does cockroaches have to do with it, let us turn to history.
In the twentieth century, when there was a fierce civil war in Mexico, the people came up with a rather original weapon against the government: people composed poems and combined them with a groovy melody. Unfortunately, there is no mention in the history of the author of these verses and music, so a fun song is considered a public treasure. But why does she have such a strange name? Everything is very simple here: in the twenties of the last century, it was fashionable among officials and officers to wear a mustache sticking out to the sides. And the more representative and higher the person was, the longer and more enormous they were. Therefore, the people nicknamed the local Mexican administration "cockroaches", allegedly because of their similarity with insects.
When Mexico gained independence and freedom from dictatorship, the song entered the heads of the population so much that they continued to ridicule the higher leadership in this way, and even shaving the mustache did not help. So “cucaracha” means, first of all, to think positively in difficult times, coping with the difficult oppression of the government, using humor.
Today, “Cucaracha” is a playful and universal song, also called Latin American folk dance.
The Story of Nodar Dumbadze
"Kukaracha" is the story of the Georgian writer Nodar Dumbadze, written in 1980. The story speaks of a young district inspector, who is called Kukarachei because of the dark skin color, while no one really knows what this word means. The inspector tries to admonish local boys who just do that, who are engaged in routs and damage to the environment, he tries to encourage teens and adults to be kinder and more attentive to the place in which they live, but it is not so easy for him to find a common language with people.
The inspector resorts to various methods of education, while fighting for a girl who is in love with a bandit. But Inga (the main character) believes that the criminal’s love is real, and when the gangster caught Kukarach, the villain accuses the girl and covers with the most dirty words. Inga asks to free the thief, because she is afraid of the contempt of others, and the protagonist agrees, but gets it in full for a good gesture: the story ends with the villain killing a kind and sympathetic inspector. He, of course, was condemned, but the Great Patriotic War began the next day, and the whole story was told by a boy whom he taught and instructed. The rather instructive story of Nodar Dumbadze passed the test of time and the change of values, but still remains relevant to this day.

What is "cucaracha" in the language of information technology? There is a special program that develops logic and teaches the basics of programming for children from seven years old on the basis of Windows: a child gives commands to a bug crawling across the screen and solves problems of various kinds: from mathematical to methods of controlling computer and software. An interesting series of algorithms, schemes, and tasks is important in Kukarache — everything is easy in a playful way, which makes it interesting for kids to learn, effortlessly, and the bug Kukarach gently indicates errors and ways to fix them.
Cartoon "Auggie and the Cuckaras"
There are many cartoons about cockroaches, but the most famous was the French animated series "Auggie and Cucarachi", which has had five seasons in its arsenal. Each episode tells how a cat named Auggie, calm and kind, shares his house with nasty and cruel cockroaches.
In this picture, a cucumber is a gang of cunning townsfolk who seek to take hold of the contents of Auggie's refrigerator, forcing the good-natured cat to fall into different traps. In some ways, this series reminds the American more famous version of “Tom and Jerry” or our native “Cat Leopold”. Dee Dee is the stupidest and most gluttonous, knows how to sing well, Joey is the leader of the gang, ideas to conquer the territory come to his head, and the last character of Mark, very thin and tall, is considered the most aggressive, but this does not prevent him from winning female hearts. By the way, the names of the cockroaches were given in honor of the rock band Ramones.
