The Storm Brothers of Skyrim are a group of rebellious opposition members opposing the imperial control of the Empire over the northern province. In their ranks are the most daring and fearless nords, who obey a chief leader named Ulfric Petrel. The group controls most of the eastern territories and meets in Windhelm.
None of the parties to the conflict is objectively right, so the player himself decides who to choose - the Storm Brothers or the Empire. "Skyrim" offers to go through two completely different chains of story quests (depending on who Dovakin will join), the outcome of which will determine the future fate of the northern province.
How to join the Storm Brothers
This task is a mirror image of the opening quest for the Imperial Legion, but this time the hero must speak with one of the rebels.
If at the beginning of Skyrim, in Helgen, the player selects Ralof’s company and leaves the caves with him, then the first entry about the quest will appear in his journal. Otherwise, you have to look for the rebels yourself.
After that, you can advance towards Windhelm, where Ulfric Petrel is seated. Let's pay attention to his armor: unfortunately, we won’t be able to get the same ones, but later we will have the opportunity to get the officer’s armor of the Skyrim Brothers. We speak with Ulfric, and then we go to the next room, where we will be introduced to the faithful ally - Galmar.
Admission to the ranks
Galmar will load Dovakin with the first task, the implementation of which should show one simple thing - is the hero worthy to join the Storm Brothers. We leave for the island, which is located near Windhelm, to kill a couple of ice ghosts.
As soon as the task is completed, we return to the city and find Galmara. We swear allegiance and become one of the Skyrim Storm Brothers. Armor and other distinctive features of this fraction will become available only after passing some quests.
Serrated crown
Next we will be asked to find the Jagged Crown - an amazing artifact with which Ulfric will be able to consolidate his position. We open the map and follow the indicated mark. Arriving at the place, we find a detachment of Imperials who also hunt for the crown.
Inside the ruins, Galmar meets us, so it will be easier to fight with the legionnaires. In the third room we will be asked to get around and check the level for safety. We go to the right and pass towards the next hall. A bunch of opponents are waiting for us there, which you can quickly figure out - we use an oil puddle and a bowl of fire for this. Soon the rest of the Brothers will join us, and together with them we will reach the Hall of Stories. We select the claw key and open the locked door for them (symbol of the wolf, symbol of the insect, symbol of the dragon).
We follow further, go up and find the lever behind the bridge - it opens the next door. We fight back from the Draugra and, finally, we reach the Jagged Crown. She rests on the head of a fairly strong opponent, so you have to deal with him. At the end of the quest, we will have the opportunity to cross over to the other side and take the crown to the Imperials, that is, we will continue to participate in the war, but already against the rebels. By the way, getting the Brothers' armor in this situation will be much easier, since it can be removed from killed opponents. Another way is Skyrim Brothers special mods.
Message for Whiterun
Having dealt with one task, we get a new one. This time we have to go to Whiterun to present the city’s jarl with a special ax. If the jarl accepts it, then this gesture will mean a union with the Brothers of the Storm of Skyrim, if he does not accept it, there will be war.
We deliver the ax to the destination and appear before Balgruf and his advisers. After a short meeting, the Jarl will abandon the ax, so we can only return with this news back to Ulfric.
Battle of Whiterun
After the appearance of the quest in our magazine, we go to Whiterun. There, on the outskirts, we will find Galmar and an army of Nords. The attack itself will begin after a small but exciting speech by adviser Ulfric.
We run along with the army of the Storm Brothers towards the city walls, break through the barricades and get to the lever that will lower the main bridge. We penetrate the city and begin to fight with the legionnaires. The main task of the quest is to reach the Dragon Reach (palace) and kill the Jarl Balgruf, so you will have to fight off numerous defenders. By the way, during the battle of Whiterun, the hero will not be able to interact with the locals and go inside the houses, shops and taverns.
In Dragonflight, in addition to the jarl, we will encounter his adviser and the usual garrison, who will try to fight back. You don’t have to kill all of them - just hit the jarl until he stops the battle.
Congratulations, we managed to conquer Whiterun and earn more recognition from Ulfric Petrel. As a reward, the hero receives a promotion, a unique gun and, of course, a new task.
Skyrim Liberation: Falkreath Captured
The liberation of the northern province is a special operation during which the Storm Brothers capture several forts. By the way, it is at this plot moment that the player can reach the Endless Time mission and try on two conflicting sides.
The first region we will conquer after Whiterun is Falkrit. We leave for the rebel camp indicated on the map and meet Galmar there. He will inform us that the legionnaires captured a group of Storm Brothers, and then placed them in Fort Neuigrad. We will organize a rescue operation together with our old friend Ralof, who will offer us two attack options: a direct attack on the forehead or an invisible penetration into the fortress.
In any case, further battle will take place side by side with the hostages released. We deal with opponents in the central building of the fort, talk with Ralof and return to Windhelm, where we deserve a well-deserved reward.
Skyrim Walkthrough: Reach Capture
The next task can be completed only through blackmail and theft. We must obtain evidence that Rerik reveres the god Talos, who is forbidden in modern Skyrim.
We make our way to the palace and go towards the personal rooms of the assistant jarl (they are located on the right side of the throne). Talos amulet is stored in one of the chests - we grab it and go to the central hall to talk with Rerik. Jarl is very scared and will agree to cooperate, talking about the imperial caravan. A little later we will go to capture him along with Galmar and Ralof.
We get a new decree from Ulfric - we need to take control of the Sangard fortress. In the process of capture, we will be forced to suppress the imperial soldiers until the percentage of their strength drops to zero.
Disinformer
We go for important documents that must be falsified. We visit the necessary inn and convince the innkeeper that the imperial messenger can be killed. He agrees to share with us information about his location, so just follow the marker.
After the documents are corrected, we go to Morfal and deliver the message under the guise of a messenger.
Battle for Solitude
After several successful seizures of fortresses, we will receive an order to seize Solitude. We go to the gathering place and listen to the farewell speech of Ulfric. The road to the gloomy castle will be teeming with Imperials, so we boldly run forward and deal with everyone who fights on the side of the opponents. The main thing is to get into the yard, as the way up ends in a dead end. In the castle, we are waiting for the final confrontation. After a small battle, we have a choice: to kill the general on our own or to honor Ulfric.
By the way, if we were playing on the side of the Imperials, then after the murder of Ulfric (a mirrored quest), Dovakin could have got that very heavy armor of the Skyrim Storm Brothers. In the final of the Battle of Solitude, we are awarded the vampire suction sword.
