Crassula - diseases and their treatment.

Crassulaceae (Pate, Crassula) or money tree, as it is also called by the people - a very interesting and completely not whimsical house plant from the genus succulent. Small sized trees or bushes with juicy green leaves are a wonderful decoration of the apartment. It was thanks to its fleshy leaves in structure that the fat woman got such a bizarre name. The substances secreted by the fat woman perfectly clean the air in the room and have an antiviral effect.

There are a lot of species of fat girl. These are plants that are diverse in size and type, can have a grassy shape, the appearance of a bush or tree. The flower propagates by cuttings or seeds. Both that, and another method are equally easy and reliable.

The plant feels great on a well-lit loggia or window sill, although direct sunlight should be avoided on the trunk and leaves. Needs infrequent watering, about 1-2 times a week, when the topsoil is completely dry. Excessive watering is unacceptable.

Although this plant is one of the most picky representatives of the flora, the fat woman still requires constant attention.

Crassula - Diseases and Pests

One of the most common "diseases" of the Crassula occurs due to improper watering. If the soil in the pot is excessively moistened and does not have time to dry in between watering, this can lead to decay of the root system and trunk of the plant.

Another serious danger to the flower is a draft. Subjected to its constant influence, the fatty woman discards the leaves. Therefore, the tree must be kept in a well-ventilated, but, nevertheless, well-protected from drafts place.

The second reason why the leaves fall on the fat woman may be the wrong place for the plant. Direct sunlight burns the vulnerable surface of leaf plates, as a result of which they dry up and fall off. Due to the lack of mineral substances in the soil, a tree can start to grow bald. This most often affects already large plants that have not been transplanted into new soil for a long time. This situation can be dealt with by selecting special fertilizers and periodically replenishing the soil in which the fat woman grows. Plant diseases can occur not only for reasons of improper care, but also due to infection of the plant.

Sometimes you may encounter a situation where mesh cracks resembling a cobweb appear on the leaves of the plant. In this case, it can be very difficult to determine what exactly the fat woman is sick with. Diseases invoking such manifestations can very quickly completely destroy even a large tree. Most often, they are caused by infection with a tick by a tick or a mealybug. To eliminate pests, the leaves of the plant are treated with cotton wool soaked in alcohol or special insecticides intended for succulents. These procedures should be carried out regularly, until the manifestations of the disease completely disappear.

Crassulleri disease is most often difficult. But even if your tree is sick, you can try to save it. In cases where the plant has suffered very much and few healthy areas remain, only the branches that survived save. From them it will be possible to grow a new healthy tree. To do this, you need to find intact twigs, break them off and let them dry a little. After which the plant is placed in moist soil and periodically watered. If the fat woman has rotted at the very root, then you can cut off the entire top completely, put it in a container of water and, having waited for it to start the roots, re-plant it in a new pot.
