Some games are quite popular among gamers. However, only a few become legends, which are remembered for a very, very long time. From time to time, developers try to bring to life those projects that once won great fame, but now, due to incredibly fast progress, are objectively outdated. The most striking example is the game "Metro 2033", released in 2010 based on a popular book with the same name. To date, the appearance of the project is already really outdated, because the developers invested more in the content of the game, and not in its shell. Therefore, in 2014, the release of Metro Redux happened, the passage of which is no different from the original version, but there are certain differences in the games themselves.
Differences between the original version and Redux

So, as you already understood, if we talk about the content of the game Metro Redux, the passage here has not changed. Everything remains in its place, your hero is the same, his weapons have not changed much, the enemies will also be completely recognizable, and you will not have to re-invent tactics to counter each of them. However, we can rightly note that Metro 2033 is a definitely outdated game in terms of graphics, it has grown old beyond its years, because in the context of a limited budget in 2010, developers did not really focus on the graphic component. However, the game gained incredible popularity, and in 2014 the Redux version was released, which complemented the original content, but its main task was to improve the graphics. And the version coped with this task - the appearance of Metro is now impressive, it is on a par with all the modern projects of this genre, so the Slavic game industry can be proud of - another game from the territory of the former Soviet Union has gained world fame. But what is the passage based on Metro Redux?
What is this game?

So, if you are interested in the passage in Metro Redux , then you should pay attention to the conditions in which the plot will develop. One of the most outstanding features, which made many gamers interested in this project, is that events occur after a nuclear war. The largest cities in the world have been wiped off the face of the Earth, including Moscow, the city in which the protagonist lived. As a result of a nuclear attack, almost the entire population of the Russian capital died. However, forty thousand people survived, because at the time of the attack they were in the subway. As a result, you cannot get to the surface - radiation reigns there and mutants reign supreme who are ready to attack any person who dares to pop out of the subway. And it was the lines and metro stations that became the new home for the surviving people. In this game you will have to feel in your own skin the oppressive and dark atmosphere of the subway and hopelessness. People have been living under the same conditions for twenty years, fighting for survival, and you will have to become one of them. True, in the process you will be presented with a small surprise that will turn everything that happened in Metro Redux upside down. The game will focus on a completely different threat.
Passing turns

As mentioned earlier, Metro Redux is a game that is a clone of the original with several times better graphics. Accordingly, the passage here remained the same as before. You need to look for weapons and fight for survival in the tunnels of the Moscow metro, where everyone can turn out to be a traitor who wants to profit from what you have. But at the most unexpected moment, the game will rally all the inhabitants of the subway, because they will face a new threat - some creatures that are much higher in level than ordinary mutants living outside. These creatures will be called "black" because of their appearance, but at the same time they will have telepathic abilities, cause people to hallucinate and brutally crack down on those who are nearby. If you look at the Metro Redux review written in a game publication, you can see that critics complain that the developers decided not to change anything in the game itself. However, that is the point - this is just an improved version of the original, and not a new project, so you should not expect from it something incredible and unique.
Original ending
As for the Metro Redux itself (a review of this will never demonstrate to you), then in this game there is a second ending that you can achieve by observing certain conditions. But first, it's worth talking about the original end of the game, which is fully consistent with what was described in the book. So, the last mission ends with the fact that you begin to hallucinate, and in them you run away from the "black", and then shoot him. If you went exclusively through the storyline, didn’t particularly explore the world around you and didn’t spare the lead for killing people, then you wake up next to the “black” corpse, and rockets will explode from the top of the Ostankino tower towards the shelter of the “blacks” and destroy it.
New ending
Which is better: Metro 2033 or Metro Redux? The comparison here is in favor of the latest project, because it offers a new interesting ending. If you explored the world, studied it, killed few people and performed additional tasks, then you will wake up next to the corpse of the "black", but half a minute before the rockets launch. You can manage to deactivate the device, because you will understand that the “blacks” killed only the aggressors, and the visions caused, because they tried to establish contact.
