First of all, you need to choose the right insulation for the floor. Materials for thermal insulation must be stable, durable, condensation must not collect on them, so that mold does not form and floors do not rot. In addition, a correctly selected insulation can withstand the load well, because people walk on the floor a lot, it has furniture and appliances, and deformation is simply unacceptable.
The insulation of the floor in a wooden house depends on whether there is a basement in it or the house is on the ground, how many floors are in it and on climatic conditions, of course.
- In the presence of a basement and a basement, it is necessary to start by warming the foundation walls with expanded polystyrene from the outside, and on top fill the area that is underground with soil and plaster or veneer the aerial part of the basement. This material can withstand loads, vibration, does not collect water, but has a high fire hazard.
- When the structure is on the ground, the insulation of the floor in the house depends on the way it is laid. When using plates, it is good to use extruded polystyrene foam or mineral wool boards as a heater. Such insulation of the floor in a wooden house protects against the penetration of cold, even in Siberia. On the bottom of the mineral wool, the layer of which is more than 15 cm, they put a special waterproofing film to prevent water retention in the insulation, and on the top - the floor covering. To do this, you can use linoleum or carpet. This creates the effect of sound and heat insulation in a private house.
- When using lags, first a vapor barrier layer is laid on the floor slab, then a heater is freely placed between them and covered with a floor covering.
A quality method of insulation is double flooring. First, slabs and uncouth boards are laid on the beams, fastened with dowels. They make sure that the boards and beams fit tightly, without gaps, to each other. Then a heater is laid, then a metal mesh with small cells to protect against rodents, and a finishing floor is laid on top. Air gap between the finishing floor and the insulation layer up to 10-15 cm is allowed.
Floor insulation in a private house can be done using fiberboard or carpet flooring. This is not a carpet, but a flooring that is glued to bustilate glue.
Insulation of the floor in a wooden house can be done by yourself. First, crushed stone, sand and sawdust are poured. Pour granular insulation well too. Inside put a metal mesh from mice. Then they lay logs, and between them a heater. Expanded clay is poured between the two floors, steam and waterproofing layers are created, and gaps are left to remove moisture. Additionally, the final floor must be treated with anti-decay preparations.
In order for a wooden house to be warm and comfortable, it is necessary to take into account not only the thermal insulation, but also the waterproofing of the floor. It is important that moisture does not appear inside the home. After all, this will lead to the formation of mold, fungus, the destruction of the structure of the house itself. In winter, the water will freeze, and in the spring and summer thaw, voids will form in the wooden floor. It will begin to deform under load.
Before starting the construction of a wooden house, it is imperative to perform drainage to drain rain, snow and groundwater. Carefully treat the foundation with a tool that will allow you to create a waterproof layer on the outside. Insulation of the floor in a wooden house is not something complicated and expensive. But it allows you to significantly save on heating in extreme cold and give pleasure when walking barefoot on a warm surface.
It is only necessary to prevent heat from entering the street through the floor and get lost. And be sure to ensure that there is protection from rats and mice. It can be a thick layer of concrete or a special metal mesh. And it is impossible to take as a heater material in which rats will create their nests. After all, these uninvited guests are much more dangerous for people than a cold floor.
