Victor Savchenko: biography, books

Viktor Anatolyevich Savchenko is a writer and publicist from Odessa, a historian, local historian and teacher, who is known for numerous publications on the history of his hometown and all of Ukraine. He is also one of the developers of the modern coat of arms of Odessa. Today, on the account of Viktor Savchenko, there are about twenty books that he wrote both independently and in collaboration with other writers.

Victor Savchenko was born in Odessa on December 13, 1961. His father was a journalist in such publications as Rabochaya Gazeta and Sailor. He also authored two storybooks. Savchenko Victor graduated in 1985 from Odessa University (Department of History), and after 5 years - graduate school. Then there was the defense of the Ph.D. thesis on the movement of anarchists in Ukraine in 1917-1921. In 1990, the author’s first article, “Treason of the Father Makhno and the Iron Broom of L. Trotsky,” was published. It was she who laid the foundation for the process of rehabilitation named after N. Makhno.

The historian and writer Viktor Savchenko taught at several universities in Odessa from 1985 to 1990. He actively participated in the political and public life of his hometown, nominated in 1995 to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. ART", a member of the editorial board of the literary almanac "Logbook", as well as the editor-in-chief of the historical and local history almanac called "Southwest. Odessa", which has been published in the city since 2006 of the year. However, for the entire period only 23 issues saw the light. It should be noted that Viktor Savchenko is a member of the Association of Ukrainian Writers, the National Society of Journalists of Ukraine, as well as the National Society of Local History of Ukraine.
