Dragon Age: Fenris - character description, features and interesting facts

The second part of "Dragon Age" introduced the fans a lot of new interesting characters. Among the main companions and pretenders to the heart of Hawk (a) was Fenris - an elf slave who once belonged to the Tevinter master and magician Danarius. The hero suffered from memory loss and physical changes caused by a lyrium artificially introduced into his body. Fenris's specialization in Dragon Age is a two-handed weapon.

Background

Fenris was for a long time enslaved by the mage Danarius, where he was subjected to experiments. Danarius experienced a lyrium on it, which was introduced into the body of the elf in the form of various tattoos (the appearance of the character can be seen in the photo below, as well as official screenshots and numerous artworks on Dragon Age). Fenris gained mystical mortal powers and, at the same time, lost his memory, forgot absolutely everything about his past life. In addition, it is better not to touch the traces from the lirium implanted into it - any touch brings severe pain to the hero.

Dragon Age 2: rivalry with Fenris

Once Fenris decided to put an end to his slave existence and escape. In response to this, the enraged Danarius begins to harass and prosecute the missing “property” in order to return the precious lyrium.

Arrival in Kirkwall

Finally, lonely wanderings lead our hero to Kirkwall - a large city in the east of Thedas and the central location of the events of the second part of Dragon Age. Fenris joins Hawk (a), but still hopes to take revenge on those who ruined his life. Danarius continues the persecution and sends his best student, Adrian, for the elf. After a fierce battle, Hadrian is defeated, and Fenris tries to find out from her information about the whereabouts of the magician. He never gets the answer to this question, but he finds out another thing - Fenris has a sister.

Dragon Age Fenris Art

It further turns out that the sister was a shell trap organized by none other than Danarius. Together with Hawk (om), Fenris finally deals with his former master, paying him back for many years of slavery and torture. At one point, the elf even tries to kill his sister, but can be stopped by the friendly Champion of Kirkwall. If the sister dies at the hands of Fenris, he will leave Hawk's squad (a) to cope with despair. If she survives, he will stay. In any case, from his sister, Fenris learns that his name is actually Summer, and that he fell to Danarius of his own free will, trying to save his family from a terrible fate.

Game finale

At the end of Dragon Age, Fenris can either stay with Hawk (om) or leave his squad, choosing the side of the enemy. It depends on which side the player ultimately takes: the side of the mages or templars. You can influence the situation in any case, the main thing is to manage to earn the necessary level of Fenris’s approval by the end. In Dragon Age 2, this way you can deal with many conflicts.

The fate of Fenris

In the third part of Dragon Age, the battle elf no longer appears, but other characters sometimes mention his name. For example, if you start a conversation with Warrick about Hawke, you will notice an additional dialogue option regarding the moons of Champion Kirkwall. Warrick tells that Fenris continues to hunt for the Tevinter slave traders, and that at the moment the elf should be somewhere in the south (regardless of whether the player had an affair with Fenris in Dragon Age 2). Unfortunately, the player will not receive more detailed information about the former satellite. A conversation with Hawk (ohm) also will not reveal anything new.

Dragon Age: Hawk and Fenris

Character

Almost all fans of Fenris from Dragon Age 2 consider him one of the most controversial characters in the series. Slave existence was reflected both in his fate and in character. The hero treats his freedom with trepidation and is ready to destroy everyone who at least somehow encroaches on her. At the same time, gaining physical freedom was never able to give Fenris spiritual freedom. He constantly torments himself, cannot deal with moral dilemmas, and experiences a strong loneliness that destroys him from within. The idea that a runaway slave will always be in danger and eternal persecution does not help either. Even after revenge is completed, the elf is unlikely to receive the long-awaited peace.

Fenris from Dragon Age

As for communication with other members of the Champion Kirkwall squad, here everything goes differently. Sometimes Fenris asks for their opinions, but always keeps aloof. He respects Avelin, is quite supportive of Warrick, is tense in communicating with Merrill and cannot stand Anders. The relationship between Fenris and Hawk in Dragon Age 2 can be either romantic or just friendly. Under certain circumstances, an elf may be angry at Champion Kirkwall and even take the side of the enemy during the final battle.

Interesting Character Features

Fenris is a very sullen and gloomy character, which is why many associates constantly make fun of him. Sometimes he himself gives jokes, but this is done with such a serious expression on his face that very often some partners unwittingly fall into a stupor.

Fenris is in a very difficult relationship with magicians. Hatred originated during his slave existence, when the hero witnessed terrible magical experiments. The circle and vigilant templars are seen by him as the main necessities in this situation.

Novel with Fenris in Dragon Age 2

Despite maintaining the slave lifestyle of all magicians, slavery to the elf itself is far from to taste. If a player tries to defend the rights of a free person, this will have a positive effect on Fenris.

Fenris can accept certain gifts from the protagonist. During the passage of the second chapter, we recommend looking into Elfinage - there is a valuable book in one of the bags. The second gift is hidden in the third chapter, in a quest called "Better Serve Cold" - this is a sword.

How to accept a party

For the first time, Fenris meets Hawk (y) during the passage of the quest "Free Cheese" (you can get the quest through the magazine in the main character's house). Together with the elf, the player goes to the slave trader Danarius, where they will face a serious battle. At the end of the fight, the enemy will hide, and Fenris will be able to join Kirkwall Champion. He will spend his free time hiking in the former estate of Danarius (the place on the map is Upper Town).

Dragon Age 2: romance with Fenris

Novel with Fenris in Dragon Age 2

As we said earlier, Fenris can become one of the love interests for Hawke (a).

  • You can flirt with an elf in the first chapter, after an attack on Danarius' house. For a romantic dialogue, you need to choose a replica with a heart. It’s worth saying right away that if the specialty of Hawk (a) is magic, then the relationship with the elf will be somewhat tense. An affair with Fenris in Dragon Age 2 is based on rivalry, that is, his enmity with Anders will have a direct impact on the relationship with Hawk (ohm), and vice versa.
  • During the passage of the second chapter, you can complete the task "Question of Faith", chatting with Fenris about his escape. The next development of his personal quest is the attack of the Tevinterist robbers of Andriana, who will overtake the player’s company between locations. After a showdown with a student of Danarius, the elf will go home to the Upper City. If Hawk goes after him and takes advantage of the romantic options in the dialogue, he will spend the night with Fenris. Unfortunately, the elf will run away in the morning, explaining his decision by not wanting to hurt Hawk (y).
Dragon Age 2: Fenris Approval
  • The third chapter will introduce us to Sister Fenris, who will turn out to be his own trap. Regardless of whether she dies in the final quest or not, Fenris will again be overwhelmed with suffering. In order to continue the novel, Hawke must talk with the elf and convince him of his own support. A little later, Avelin and Warrick will try to persuade Fenris to change their housing, since Danarius's estate was and remains not the best place. A hawk may offer to stay with him / her. During the last visit to the elf in the third chapter, the player must again raise the topic of Danarius. As a result, he can forgive Fenris his behavior, and everything will end with a kiss.
  • Before the final battle, the player will have the opportunity to communicate with all partners in turn. If you speak with Fenris, he will confess to Hawk (y) in love and give him / her a kiss.
