Pillow toys are not only funny looking and interesting for children. They can perfectly transform the interior of any room. We invite you to find out how to make patterns of soft pillow toys and sew on them.

What materials are better to choose for making pillows?

To sew baby pillows toys, it is best to use fabrics made from natural materials and high-quality fillers. It can be cotton, linen, fleece, non-woven, plush. You can also make a pillow from unnecessary knitted sweaters and sweaters. The main thing is that the material is clean.

The most commonly used filler is holofiber, synthetic winterizer or special balls. It is worth noting that the pillow with the last stuffing will be quite stiff.

How to sew decorative pillows?

The sewing process, as in any other case, begins with the construction of a pattern of pillow toys with your own hands. It can be drawn in two ways:

1. You take as a basis a pillow of the usual shape (square or rectangular) and draw decorative elements (for example, eyes, wings, tail, paws and so on).
2. You draw a pillow shaped like an animal, an object, and the like. Such patterns can be both solid and those where each element will be sewn separately.

When everything is ready, patterns of pillow toys, created with their own hands, are cut out and applied to the fabric. Then the parts are made of shreds. Then everything is stitched and filled with filler.

As you can see, everything is quite simple.

We sew a pillow in the shape of a sheep

It turns out very cute toy pillow lamb. Pattern for sewing is done on three sheets.

Master class on how to make a pillow in the shape of a sheep:

1. Attach the pattern to the fabric and cut out the following number of elements: four legs, two muzzles and an eye, two torsos (picture 1). Do not forget to connect the front and back of the body.
2. Sew each piece with your pair, except for the body, leaving small holes on one side (Figure 2).
3. Then connect all the parts to each other with the help of pin needles and sew the body along the contour (picture 3).
4. Fill the pillow with filler and sew a hole (picture 4).

The wonderful pillow toy is ready!

It is not necessary to make a pillow this way. You can sew a sheep with a cloud body from a homemade pattern of pillow toys. With your own hands, draw a drawing of the cloud, paws and face. The latter should be sewn onto the body.

Owl shaped baby pillow

Instructions on how to sew a pillow toy:

1. Cut out all the elements of the pattern of pillow toys with your own hands.
2. Pin each part to the appropriate fabric and cut it out (Figure 1).
3. As a result, you will get two parts of the body, eyes, wings, four legs, and one beak and a belly each.
4. Sew eyes, belly, beak and wings on the front of the body of the owl (Figure 2).
5. Sew the legs in pairs, leaving a hole on top. Fill the parts with filler (Figure 3).
6. Sew the tabs to the front of the pillow (Figure 4).
7. Cut a strip of fabric. The volume of the pillow toy depends on its width.
8. Sew the strip to the front of the owl along the contour (Figure 5).
9. Sew the back of the pillow to the strip, but not completely.
10. Push the filler into the hole left (Figure 6).
11. Sew a hole with a hidden seam.

The pillow toy is ready in the shape of an owl!

Tip: if you sew a puziko only on three sides, and leave a hole on top, you get an owl pillow with a pocket. If desired, you can make Velcro, and then it will close. Sewing a snake is undesirable, because the craft is more a pillow than a toy.

We sew a toy pillow for the neck in the form of a giraffe

Neck pillows can be not only comfortable, but also fun. Often you can find such accessories in the form of a cat, dogs, ducks, bears and so on. The shape of the pillow resembles a roller, but such details as paws, ears, tail, give it tenderness.

Workshop on sewing the original neck pillow in the form of a giraffe:

1. Transfer the pattern to the fabric.
2. You should get the following number of necessary details: two torsos, four rectangles-legs, eight hooves, one tail, four ears, two horns.
3. Fold the tail piece in half in length and sew it, leaving a hole on top.
4. Sew two hooves on each side of the foot on one side.
5. Then fold the part in half and sew them, leaving a hole on top.
6. Sew in full the details of the ears in pairs.
7. Sew the ears and fill them with filler.
8. Push the filler into the legs and tail using a wooden stick.
9. Sew eyes, ears, horns, tail and all legs to the front of the pillow.
10. Sew together the finished front of the giraffe and its back.
11. Fill the pillowcase tightly with filler and sew the toy.

Giraffe pillow for the neck is ready!

By the way, special stones are often used as a filler for such accessories - the shape of the product is better preserved.
