In Soviet times, a clamp for the wires of power lines was invented at the research institute of the All-Russian Research Institute (project "Electrician") . It was important for scientists to develop a device that would have high strength, increased reliability and enhanced multifunctionality. This project involved scientists from many industries, including the chemical.
The invention of scientists
Since the 50s of the last century, this invention has been used to connect wires end-to-end and is actively used in electrical engineering. Such a clamp is also called an electrical contact, or wedge, it can be operated with without removing insulation.
- Wedge clip for wires. The scope of such compounds is quite small. It is limited by an overhead power line. This is because only two conductors of identical cross-section can be connected with a wedge clamp for wires.
- Branch clamp for connecting the power line . The disadvantage of this device: using it, you need a special screw instead of the push mechanism.
- The clip for the wires of power lines is a wedge-shaped body in the form of a gutter, in the cavity of which there is an insert and a pressure mechanism. Such a device provides only compression of the conductor. Scientists have been able to invent hanging clamps that are mounted in intermediate supports.
For all connection options, such devices allow you to connect to already involved conductors, without requiring disconnecting the common line.
New generation
Anchor clip for wire. The clamp case is polyamide, quite strong and durable, additionally reinforced with fiberglass, has high wear resistance to mechanical stress, to unpredictable environmental influences. Reliable fastening of the wire is provided by two wedges made of thermoplastic. This device consists of a flexible cable made of stainless steel. An anchor wedge clamp is used for wires in
electrical wiring fixtures and ropes with a cross section of up to 92 mm 2 . The device is used to provide good contact in severe weather conditions and under high mechanical loads. Anchor clamps were developed and put into operation to ensure high wire termination strength, as well as for ease of installation and the possibility of repair at no additional cost.
Anchor clamp DN 123
A feature of this design is that it is made of thermoplastic resistant to ultraviolet and reinforced with a fiberglass structure. Advantages: it compares favorably with other devices in that it has a high ultimate load, which makes it possible to increase the length of the span of wires (up to 40 m). This distance between the supports is allowed to be performed using a material with a cross section of 25 mm 2 . Often allowed for installation work with anchor clamps of this modification with untwisted input wires.
