Merunes Dagon is the main antagonist in TES IV: Oblivion, as well as one of the most famous Daedric deities. It represents destruction, energy, movement, and therefore is represented in the image of a warrior. Dagon is the key reason for the constant wars, chaos, it is spiteful, and also seeks to destroy everything that it touches. His relic, The Razor of Merunes, can kill anyone, of course, if the mortal gets the courage to use it.
Appearance and effect on mortals
Traditionally, Dagon is a four-arm giant who holds a two-blade poleaxe and shuko. However, the prince himself does not shy away from using almost any weapon and warmly indulges the soldiers in their bloody rage. His skin is red as blood, and his eyes glow like embers. That is how one can describe Merunes Dagon. Unlike his brothers, he not only seeks to intervene in the lives of mere mortals, but also tries to enslave them or push them together with his foreheads for his own fun.
His day is the twentieth day of Sunset Month. Then the “Festival of Warriors" is held, which is a mixture of fun, drinking, and a bloody orgy. However, we must pay tribute, Dagon is an honest overlord who does not encourage assault in the back and intrigue. He is chaotic, but in his actions there is a certain logic and even honor.
At TES: Morrowind
In the third part of the franchise, Merunes Dagon is one of the "bad" daedra. It is associated with the harsh climate of the island. He is also one of the four pillars of the House of Cares. With his hands the House of Soth was destroyed. In general, Morrowind resembles the native plan of Dagon, the king sits in one of the huge towers in the middle of the lava oceans. An extremely frightening place over which thunderclouds constantly hang. Those daedra warriors with whom the player is constantly confronted to one degree or another are precisely the servants of Merunes Dagon.
In Oblivion
In the fourth part, Merunes Dagon acts as a key antagonist. He is embodied in the real plane, which is extremely difficult, and clashes in a battle with the heir Septim, who took the form of a dragon. As a result of the battle, the portal was closed, and the prince himself went to his native dimension. The conflict was called the "Oblivion Crisis" and turned into one of the reasons for the fall of the Septim Empire and the subsequent civil war. The consequences of the invasion of Dagon, as well as the activities of his cultists of "Mythical Dawn" were significant destruction, the fall of the capital, numerous victims.
In skyrim
In the fifth part of the game series, Merunes Dagon is present exclusively as an observer. If the protagonist attracts his attention by agreeing to help the heir to the cult, the player will get the opportunity to earn "Merunes Razor" - a mythical artifact that can kill anyone. However, for this it will be necessary to remain the only one in front of the sanctuary, that is, to end the life of his partner and part-time employer. In the end, Merunes Dagon only laughs and lets go of the Dragonborn, as he amused him.
The developers of the game turned out to be a very charismatic and ambiguous character. It has its own unique “twist” and is great for the universe. Perhaps this explains why he is so popular.
