It is impossible to imagine Russia without Moscow, and Moscow without VDNH (Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy). The idea of creating the exhibition arose back in 1923, but the final appearance of VDNH was formed much later after a large-scale reconstruction of 1935-1954. The exhibition changed its name several times, but the layout of the pavilions at VDNH did not change significantly. Numerous objects, monuments and pavilions are outstanding examples of the architecture of the Soviet era. For almost a century of history, VDNH has become not only a favorite place for Muscovites and visitors, but also the largest exhibition center in Russia and Europe.

The total area of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy after merging with the Botanical Garden and Ostankino Park is 520 hectares. This vast territory cannot be carefully examined even in a few days. The pavilions of the exhibition present the most advanced innovative technologies in all spheres of human activity. The easiest way is to get by metro to the VDNH Station or other public transport at 119 Mira Avenue.
The main entrance
Coming out of the subway and heading to the main entrance, pay attention to the Cosmonautics Museum, over which stands the monument to the Conquerors of Space, which is worth a visit. Along the central alley, passing the arch of the main entrance, you can get to a large square, in the center of which is the famous fountain "Friendship of Peoples." Around the fountain are the Central House of Nations and pavilions: "Public Education", "Biology", "Physics", "Chemistry", "Standards", "Printing", "Coal Industry" and "Atomic Energy". The VDNH scheme will lead to the Stone Flower fountain, and along the way you can visit the pavilions: Kazakhstan, Trade Union Exhibition Center, Healthcare, Azerbaijan, Radio Engineering and Communications, Optics, Culture. Thus, you can reach the center of the exhibition by viewing several thematic exhibitions.
Khovansky gate
Through this gate you can also get to the heart of the complex, which houses three aircraft and a model of the Gagarin rocket "Vostok", which is located in front of the pavilion "Cosmos". Passing along Khovanskaya Street, it is worth examining the pavilions: "Hydrometeorology", "Forestry", "Chemical industry", "Beekeeping", "Microbiology", "Oil industry". Despite the historically far-sighted architectural solution, the layout of the VDNKH pavilions is constantly updated based on economic and political requirements. Therefore, you must follow the information. Near the pavilion "Cosmos" there are also expositions: "Transport", "Physical Culture", "Mechanical Engineering", "Electrification", "Veterinary Medicine".
Entrances: Likhoborsky, State Farm, Fair
From the eastern side, VDNH can be reached through three entrances. From Eisenstein Street, visitors go to the fairgrounds and the ultra-modern pavilion No. 75. Via Sovkhoznaya Street you can go to the livestock and agriculture complex. It includes pavilions: "Pig", "Sheep", "Dairy", "Meat", "Cattle", "Poultry", "Hunting and hunting", "Processing of agricultural products" and much more. If you get to the exhibition through Likhoborsky entrance, the VDNH scheme will lead to the artificial lakes where the pavilions are located: “Shipbuilding”, “Fishing”, “Nature Protection”. Using this entrance, wedding processions for painting in the newly opened Palace of Weddings enter the territory of VDNH .
Entrance from the Botanical Garden
At VDNH, developers and manufacturers provide the best examples of their work. This also applies to the breeding programs of the Botanical Garden: in the exhibition pavilions, everyone can buy seeds and seedlings of crops obtained as a result of many years of scientific work. For educational purposes, visit the mock-up of the Buran reusable spacecraft; an exposition dedicated to the creation of the shuttle is operating in the fuselage. Nearby is the pavilion "Polytechnic", constantly updated thematic exhibitions will pleasantly surprise you with their diversity. A fascinating “journey to Mars” was organized at the Museum of Mars (the “Cosmos” pavilion), and the Museum of Illusions and Labyrinths will provide nine attraction programs for amateurs taking pictures against the backdrop of unusual scenery. Exciting events are held in the House of Culture, where concerts, exhibitions, and meetings with interesting and famous people are held. The “Panoramic Panorama” cinema can be attributed to this category: watching films creates a wonderful effect of presence, where the viewer becomes part of the action. The VDNH scheme is sure to be needed by lovers of cycling and rollerblading (a rental point to the left of the main entrance). I would like to pay special attention to the Moskvarium Aquarium, which allows you to look into the depths of the World Ocean. The complex includes an aquarium, a swimming center with dolphins and a main hall for large-scale and colorful performances with marine animals and pinnipeds. The children’s admiration is caused by the Attropark at VDNKh, which is located to the right of the main entrance. Sixteen of the most modern attractions will please not only children, but also adults.
When walking along the picturesque paths of the complex and visiting the numerous pavilions, visitors will definitely need the VDNH scheme.
