Legend

In ancient times, the gray-haired old man Mamed lived in these places, and he had a small grandson. One day, all the inhabitants of the village went to the neighboring village to celebrate their wedding. The old man and the boy were left alone. At this time, a detachment of Turks landed on the coast. The grandson of Mammad noticed strangers, managed to warn his grandfather and local residents about this. All cattle was driven into the mountain forest, people took away all the valuable with them and also hid in the mountains. One old man remained in the aul. The Turks broke into the village, but found nothing of value there. Met only grandfather and grandson. Guessing that the inhabitants had been warned by them, they led the old man to his leader.
The death of an old hero
Threatening the grandfather with his grandson with torture, the Turks demanded to show where the people had gone. Frightened for the grandson, Mammad said he would show the way. He led the enemy army into the mountains through a narrow path. Passing over the gorge, Mamed imperceptibly pushed his grandson so that he could escape, he himself led the army deep into the mountains. Already in a remote gorge, the Turks guessed about the old manās plans. Angry, they tortured him for a long time, and then walled him up in a cliff, directly above the river. Everyone here died.
