So, the beneficial properties of room geranium. There are a lot of them. A geranium flower should be in every home! It creates a wonderful atmosphere and cleans the air in a literal and figurative sense. Geranium, or pelargonium, can repel pests, because it has a very specific smell (because of which it is now mainly grown on balconies and flower beds). This plant is widely used in folk medicine as a remedy for intestinal disorders, colds, runny nose, kidney diseases, salt deposition, nervous tics, cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, skin diseases, and women's ailments. But the beneficial properties of room geraniums do not end there. Its inflorescences are successfully used in cosmetology for ice making. Geranium oil cheers up and helps get rid of depression! Useful properties of room geraniums lie not only in the leaves of the plant, but in the roots and in inflorescences. The beneficial properties of room geraniums are far from the only reason flower growers all over the world grow this flower. This is just a gorgeous plant, especially with proper care. It looks like a royal everywhere: on the windowsill or fireplace, on the balcony or in the garden, these bright and delicate or bright and juicy inflorescences cause a storm of emotions. Just a flower grower's dream - geranium! Growing a flower is also not a big deal. Geranium is unpretentious. A sunny place and soil composition are preferable: turf, leafy soil, humus and sand (2,2,2,1), watering should be moderate, more in summer. The plant is rarely affected by diseases and pests. When a black leg is damaged, the plant is destroyed, but this is very rare, sometimes gray mold appears on the leaves due to overmoistening. Such a flower is treated with antifungal drugs, leaves are removed and watering is reduced. All other "troubles", such as falling leaves, their redness and dryness or lethargy, lack of flowering, are treated by simple regulation of watering, air temperature and access to sunlight.

Geranium. Growing

The easiest way to propagate geraniums is cuttings. At the same time, the properties of the mother plant are preserved, which is doubtful when growing hybrid varieties from seeds (if seeds are collected from a hybrid). If, nevertheless, a decision was made to grow by seeds, then the sowing time should be no later than the end of February, and the seeding of seeds should be superficial (the seeds should be slightly sprinkled with earth). The pot is covered with glass or film and aired daily, until emergence, maintain soil moisture. Seedlings are dived after the appearance of the fourth leaf in separate pots and grown in a bright place. Cuttings can be made at any time, the best option is early spring (March) or late summer (August). A cut off shoot should have 4-5 leaves, it is better to remove the extreme ones. It is better to germinate the cuttings in water with the addition of activated charcoal (1 tablet), or you can immediately plant them in the ground by treating the cut.

With a lack of time to care for indoor plants, but a great desire to decorate your home, geraniums are the best choice. This is a very correct combination of beautiful appearance with useful properties!
