If the piston begins to rise, then the water that is above it begins to pour out through the outlet pipe. At the same time, the bottom valve opens, and the liquid again accumulates inside the device.

Moreover, all components of the device must be strong and reliable, especially the inlet pipe through which water is supplied into the pump. Otherwise, the draft can provoke adhesion of its walls.

Also, the piston pump must be equipped with robust check valves so that they do not allow water to return back to the inlet hose. They can be membrane or ball. If a round valve is used, it is desirable that it be made of glass, hard rubber or heavy plastic.

If the distance from the surface to the groundwater bed is large enough, in this case you will have to install a submersible pump. The fact is that atmospheric pressure can interfere with the normal operation of the device.

It should be noted that not always a device that is powered by an electrical network can perform its function without failures. Although today such devices have not been used for a long time and it is quite difficult to buy them.
