Flower swimsuit is a hygrophilous plant and therefore it can be found near water bodies. The most widely cultivated are two types of leotard - European and Asian.
Description of flower European swimsuit
This plant is in the form of a bush, has a height of 50 to 80 centimeters. Flowering begins around the end of May or early June, depending on weather conditions. The European leotard has bright yellow and lemon flowers that have long pedicels and can be up to 5 centimeters in diameter.
Description of an Asian swimsuit flower
This plant has a more compact bush, which is almost the same size as that of the European leotard and reaches a height of up to 80 centimeters. Flowering begins in late May and is quite short, about 20 days. The flowers are very beautiful and have a bright orange color, from a distance they look like small lights. The diameter of the flowers can vary from 5 to 6 centimeters.
Also, based on these species, many hybrids have been created. They are distinguished by a wide variety of colors. The most common is Alabaster - it has pale cream flowers, Canary Bird - it has pale yellow flowers, Orange Princess and Goldquelle are also very beautiful.
The flower of the leotard, despite the variety of species, has approximately the same height. However, there are several species that are gigantic in size. For example, the highest bathhouse can grow up to 1.5 meters, and the Chinese bathhouse grows about a meter in height. The species that are common in the mountains are dwarf in size, so the Dzhungarian leotard and the dwarf leotard reach a height of only 15 centimeters, but, nevertheless, they are also very beautiful.
A leotard is a perennial plant and without transplantation can grow in one place for more than ten years. If you create good conditions for the plant, the bush can grow very quickly, then you will have to divide it and plant new plants. If this is not done on time, the degeneration of the barn will begin.
If in nature the leotard prefers shaded places, then in the gardens many grow it in sunny areas. In such conditions, the plant also feels rather well, just fades faster and requires increased watering. The soil for growing a leotard should contain a lot of humus and be neutral in acidity.
This is a fairly unpretentious plant and therefore when growing it usually does not cause problems. However, like any plant, it has its weaknesses. The leotard does not tolerate stagnation of water, when it is planted, care must be taken to organize good drainage. When a plant blooms and develops, it requires enhanced watering, the intensity of which decreases toward autumn. Do not dig the ground under the bush. Thus, you damage the roots, which are located close to the surface and do the plant more harm than good. To preserve moisture in the soil, it must be mulched. To do this, it is good to use humus or use a mixture of peat and sand, taken in equal proportions.
The swimsuit propagates by seeds, as well as by dividing the bush. But experts do not recommend dividing a bush younger than 5 years old.
The leotard is practically not sick. You can feed, for example, spray the bush with epin. To prevent the occurrence of various fungal diseases, it is necessary to constantly remove dead leaves. The plant has good frost resistance, so it easily tolerates our winters.
