Psychologists say we all come from childhood. With the same success it can be argued that we are all from the Soviet Union. And no matter how hard the modern generation tries to disown the legacy of the Soviet era - this is impossible. One of these traces of the past is VDNH Kiev.
The history of the creation of exhibitions of achievements of the national economy
In the years of industrialization and intensive collective farm construction, despite the difficulties, the Soviet people were full of enthusiasm and faith in the speedy implementation of the idea of a communist society of universal prosperity. Party congresses reported all about new and new successes. The idea of creating VDNH arose from the need to show in practice the existing achievements of agriculture. Indeed, at the beginning the exhibition was planned as a review of the experience of this purely field of the national economy, but then the concept was revised. VDNH began to sanctify the successes of all sectors of the economy. The first such exhibition was opened in Moscow in 1939, and to this day it remains the largest exhibition center in the post-Soviet space. Following its creation, similar expositions began to be organized in other cities. One of them was the Ukrainian Exhibition of Economic Achievements. Kiev, as the capital of the republic, has become its location.
Organization of VDNH in Kiev
Nine years have passed from the decision to create an all-Ukrainian republican exhibition in 1949 to its opening. A considerable period even for that period. Many structures on the territory of the Expocenter have the status of historical monuments of Ukraine and are protected by law. On the other hand, dozens of exhibition halls work at VDNH, which demonstrate the country's achievements not only in the economic, but also in the scientific, technical and humanitarian fields. 2014 was a difficult year for Ukraine. The political situation in Kiev was heated throughout the year. The main attention was paid, of course, to the Maidan. And yet, during this time, "Expocenter of Ukraine" held its traditional events, such as the spring fair, Easter and other exhibitions. A number of interesting events are still awaiting visitors to VDNH (Kiev). The 2014 exhibitions are not over. In addition to the stationary pavilions, in August the City of Masters and the fashion festival will open its doors to guests, in September those interested in alternative medicine are invited to attend, in October - those who want to build a country house.
