One of the most popular plant species among flower lovers is primrose stemless (its other name is ordinary). This primrose is quite simple to care for and grow, can grow for several years in a row, delighting others with beautiful flowers. He loves a well-lit area, but without exposure to direct sunlight. It also accepts cool weather conditions, and at low temperatures, you can even significantly extend the flowering period.
Proper care
Nothing particularly difficult to care for this primrose is observed, this perennial plant develops quickly enough, delighting us with its bright spring flowering. The primrose stemless Potsdam Giant, the seeds of which can be bought without difficulty in any store, grows better in slightly shaded places or in the sun, only if the soil in these places is very poorly heated. If the primrose stemless will be grown in a sunny warm area, nothing good will come of it: the bushes will gradually begin to grow smaller, the flowering itself will noticeably decrease, and the flowers will lose saturation and become quite faded.
If we talk about the choice of soil, then preference should be given to a humus base (good water permeability). However, if plants are planted under inappropriate conditions (in fairly open places, and not under the canopy of trees), this will have an extremely negative effect on primrose. As for the hybrid forms, they require additional spraying. In order to avoid drying out of the soil in the future, lonely plants should be sprinkled a little. If you have several primroses of the same species, try to plant them closer to each other: in this position, the plants will tightly cover the soil from sunlight and will not allow it to become very hot.
Like all plants of this kind, primrose stemless needs intensive and regular watering in the warm season, in winter the soil should be completely dry. For better flowering, you first need to take care of the quality of the soil and fertilize it a little: based on one square meter, you need to use about two buckets of compost, as well as humus, peat and leafy soil (naturally, a small part of the sand should be present in the soil). Do not forget that every next five years, primrose needs to be divided in order to avoid reducing the size of the flowers. For the best development, the primrose is stemless, the cultivation of which also consists of some stages, greatly needs additional nutrition. After the last frosts, only 10 - 15 grams of mineral fertilizers per square meter. m will significantly accelerate the growth of primroses and in the best way will help them to bounce back. After fifteen days, they are fertilized with 20 grams of superphosphate and 15 grams of potassium magnesia (per 1 sq. M.).
Relating to the majority of mountain primroses, common primrose adores slightly moist soil, but hardly tolerates prolonged stagnation and flooding, especially in spring. The lower parts of the leaves begin to constantly get wet, which leads to heating. Also, do not forget about loosening and weeding, but also about the correct removal of fading unnecessary peduncles. Just in case, the plant for the winter period needs to be covered with leaves or earth (just a little bit) so that in case of a snowless winter they will not freeze. Although some types of primroses can overwinter completely without shelter.
The primrose stemless before all usually shows its yellow flowers, later other shades (white, lilac, lilac) also appear. By the number of colors and forms, hybrid forms of primrose stand out very strongly. From their variety, every lover of flowers will be able to choose the copies that suit him.
