Events unfold in 1935, when the fascist party had already seized power in Germany. In the Soviet Union, no one suspects that a war is planned in some ten years. The main character is an easily accessible girl, accustomed to stealing, a resident of a small town. The heroine suddenly wakes up in the middle of the street and feels severe pain in her head. She recalls that someone hit her with something heavy.
