Handmade tags are a great addition to DIY products. They are attached to toys, clothes, jewelry and even sweets. Tags for handmade products are very easy to do. By creating such an element, you attach your soul and advertisement to the subject. It is impossible to do without the second in the modern world. Such a business card will appeal to absolutely every buyer.
There are a huge number of options for creating tags. In this article we will consider the most interesting instances that will complement and emphasize your work. In this article you will see the most unusual tags for handmade products. Photos will convey the beauty of these little things. Most importantly, you need to know what such a business card should contain. It depends on what it is intended for.
We use ready-made templates
The easiest option is to use ready-made templates. You can draw them yourself, using the help of graphic editors, or borrow from another designer. For example, jewelry tags (photo below) can be of any shape. The color scheme is chosen at your discretion.
For printing, it is best to use matte paper. It will be possible to write additional data on it. There are textured sheets that are original and memorable in appearance.
Photo Paper Coffee Tag
This tag option is suitable for toys or to complement packaging with sweet items. First you have to work in a graphical computer program.
- We make the table in "Word" and fill it. What will be written on the tags is up to you. We print the finished canvas with text on double-sided matte paper. This is the first step in creating a tag for handmade products.
- Next, you need some ready-made coffee and cotton pads. Using a napkin dipped in a drink, walk along the surface of the sheet on both sides. After which the paper needs to be given a little time to dry. The glossy base is not suitable for this.
- When the workpiece dries, using the same cotton pad and coffee, we make blots on the sheet. To do this, moisten the swabs and squeeze on the paper in random order. Now again you need to dry.
- Repeat the same procedure with the other side of the sheet.
- At this stage, you need a stronger drink, you can use chicory. Use a toothbrush to spray coffee onto paper on both sides. Drops will ideally fall on a leaf.
- Painting is over. When fully dried, you will get a very beautiful result.
- For decoration, we use small paper rose buds. We glue them on any edge of the tag.
Kraft paper tag
To make this option you will need: a figured hole punch, kraft paper and plain color, scissors, a ruler, glue and an outline of any color. Tags for hand-made products will look great. They are ideal for needlewomen who sew or knit bears.
- We cut the rectangles out of paper and use the figured hole punch to make holes in the form of an animal.
- We cut out similar geometric shapes from another material.
- Glue two pieces of sheet to each other.
- When the finished products are completely dry, you can sign them, contour or pen.
Thermal Transfer Printing
There is a piece of paper on which you can print text and use a hot iron to place it on a cloth. This material is called thermal transfer paper. This type of tags will perfectly serve items made of fabric that will practically not be washed. In order to create such elements, you will need: thermal transfer paper, satin ribbon, computer, printer, scissors, iron.
On the tag you can put the name of the site, your name or surname, the name of the store.
- In a Word document, create a table and write the name. It is important to remember that the logo must be mirrored. When everything is ready, we send the document for printing on a printer using special material.
- Now take the satin ribbon. It is better to take light-colored raw materials so that letters are visible on it.
- Put the printed image face down on the tape. Press and start ironing until the materials are glued together. Turn off the steam function so that the sheet does not get wet.
- Allow the tape to cool and remove the top layer of paper. The inscription is glued, now you need to leave 2 cm at the edges of the strip for bending. Ready-made decorative ribbon is sewn onto the product.
Such printing of tags for jewelry will not work. For this option, it’s better to use other options.
Cross stitch tag
Unlike the previous version, this one is good in that the products can be ironed and washed. To create such a tag you will need: fabric (it is better if weaving of threads is clearly visible on it, this will simplify embroidery), threads, a needle, scissors.
From matter we cut out a rectangle. We make an inscription scheme, for this we draw each letter with crosses. We proceed to embroidery on the fabric. The inscription can be decorated with different elements (such as underlining) or decorated with embroidered flowers. Then we fold the fabric in half. The product is bent and stitched. We turn the tag and sew on the desired product. This option is very convenient and simple. Excellent for washing and ironing. There are no disadvantages in it, you only need a little of your time to make a tag.
Cardboard tag
There may be fabric tags for handmade products. Present the template below. For manufacturing you will need: cardboard, cloth, glue and pencil.
- We take cardboard and on the smooth side we draw a sketch of the application. You can choose any form of future business cards. We chose the simplest, but no less spectacular. From the shreds we cut out small triangles. They will be used as flags. Three decorative elements look good. Glue the geometric shapes down with the corner. It is better to make a ribbon of flags in the middle of the tag.
- We decorate tags with warm wishes for our customers. The ribbon for attaching to the product can be made of tow or satin fabric.
Cardboard and felt tag
This type of product is done very quickly. To make several tags, you will spend no more than 15 minutes. We cut out multi-colored figures from felt that will imitate vegetables and fruits. Sew them to cardboard tags. Such business cards will decorate any product. They look bright and original. Of course, you have to work hard to create them. But the joyful faces of customers will be your reward.
Salt dough and hardening clay business cards
Tags for handmade products can be made from salt dough. They can decorate gifts for the New Year holidays.
And from the hardening clay you can make tags, for example, on the marine theme. Such a raw material mass is inexpensive, so you do not have to spend too much. For the manufacture of such business cards you will need: clay, lace, figures, shells, cookie baking dishes, rolling pin, board.
Making is simple. We take clay (dough), roll out and cut out the figures. We make prints on them and most importantly - do not forget about the hole. The more evenly you roll out the mass, the more tags you get. Basically, about 15 large and 10 small items come out from one pack. The average price is four rubles per piece.
When the clay dries, sandpaper the edges and, if desired, can be decorated with acrylics or stamp pads.
Clay tags after drying completely turn out a little curved, dough products remain smooth. Working with the second option is much easier. They can be used as tags for jewelry.
Lace and cardboard
