Falrim Falmer: passage secrets, tips

Falrim Falmer are hostile creatures that live in dungeons and ruins. They are absolutely blind, but they have excellent hearing, which allows them to instantly respond to any movement. Dovakin will have to quite often meet with Falmer during his adventures, therefore this article is devoted to these creatures.

History

Not everyone knows, but the second name for Falrim Falmers is the snow elves. It is understandable, because in the ugly features of the underground creatures it is difficult to find at least some resemblance to the elven beauty. But once everything was completely different.

While still a highly developed race, Falmer fought with the ancient Nords. The snow elves lost battle after battle, and this forced them to ask the Dwemer for help. The latter allowed the Falmer to live in their underground cities, but did not treat them by any means as allies. The Dwemer enslaved the snow elves and made them the object of their monstrous experiments.

Blinded Falmer in Skyrim

Many years later, suffering from the effects of numerous trials, the Falmer were blinded and lost their original appearance. Nevertheless, they acquired incredible resistance, which allowed them to survive even their creators. Unfortunately, the mutation took root deeply and influenced all subsequent generations.

Habitat

Gloomy Dwemer ruins and dark dungeons - these are the places in Skyrim where you can find Falmers with a high degree of probability. The problem is that the type of creatures that live in these locations is determined randomly, so you can’t determine in advance which enemies you will encounter in a particular dungeon.

However, the game has a unique area where you can guaranteedly find Falmers. It is available only to those gamers who have the Dawnguard add-on installed, and is called Forgotten Valley. To get here, you will need to complete the Touch to Heaven quest.

It is noteworthy that the Falmer of the Forgotten Valley, unlike their underground counterparts, quietly live in the open. Moreover, it is imperceptible that they experience any discomfort from such a lifestyle.

Kinds

Like almost all the inhabitants of the game world of Skyrim, Falmers are divided into several types, each of which has unique features:

  • Mercenaries. They know how to use various weapons and magic, and also with some probability they can poison the target upon impact. They are the most dangerous representatives of their race.
  • Wild. Found only in the Forgotten Valley area. Weapons are not used, but this does not prevent them from rinsing you with their claws.
  • Frozen. Just like the wild Falmer, do not carry weapons. Noteworthy in that they are vampires and can suck life out of their victims. You can find them in the Forgotten Valley.
Frozen Falmer in Skyrim
  • Frozen Shamans. They fight with invoked weapons and actively use magic. Also. may poison you if hit.

In addition, Falmers are involved in breeding primitive animals, so they can often be found in company with frosty spiders, malefactors and Corus. Naturally, these monsters, like their masters, will be your opponents.

Trophies

By killing Falmers in Skyrim, you can find various objects on their bodies. So, from the corpses you can pick up gold, various poisons and ears. In addition, there is a chance to get hold of unique equipment like swords, bows with arrows, axes and shields. Unfortunately, standard Falmer armor is not removed from corpses. However, they can be found in the game separately.

Falmer Armor in Skyrim

With the release of the DLC Dawnguard, female Falmers have appeared who are mages and wield staves. Along with this, former snow elves learned to use heavy and reinforced armor. This equipment can already be obtained from their corpses. By the way, the use of the new armor by the Falmers is not explained in any way. We can only assume that this is either a breakthrough of their race in blacksmithing, or preparation for an invasion of the surface.

One of a kind

Separately, it is worth mentioning the brothers Wirtur and Gelebor, who are the only Falmers who have retained their original appearance. Wirthour in those distant times, when his race had not yet completely degraded, was converted to a vampire and only thanks to this could save himself from a mutation. Gelebor, observing his sacred vow, remained to protect the Good Land and therefore did not become a victim of the Dwemer experiments.

You can meet both snow elves while completing the main storyline of the Dawnguard expansion. It doesn’t matter which of the warring parties Dovakin stands for.

Related quests

There are several tasks in Skyrim related to the Falmer in one way or another:

  • Touching the sky. The mission is only available to players who have the Dawnguard expansion installed. During this quest you will meet the aforementioned Gelebor and Virtur.
  • Beyond the ordinary. At one of the stages of this task, Dovakin will need to find the blood of a Falmer. At Skyrim, this item can be found in Alftanda.
  • Blindness. Performing this quest, Dovakin will receive unique gems called Eyes of Falmer. In Skyrim, these items can either be sold to merchants (only Delvin Mellory will buy the left eye), or used to decorate the main character's home.

In addition, Falmer is relatively often seen as ordinary opponents in many other tasks.

Mods

If you liked the snow elf race, you can install Falmer mods for Skyrim. Here are the most popular ones:

  • Falmer women. In principle, the essence of a mod can be understood from its name. Replaces most of the Falmer with snow elves who are not susceptible to mutation.
  • Falmer race. Allows you to use the Falmer as a starting race for the main character.
  • FALMER. Improves the texture of the Falmer, making them clearer.

In addition, you can easily find many mods that allow you to use various representatives of the snow elf race as your companion.

Notes

There are some interesting points related to Falmer:

  • These creatures are blind, but you cannot sneak past them. The enemy will immediately hear you if you take at least a step.
  • It is useless to attack frozen Falmers with a cold. But the fire on the contrary deals them increased damage.

  • Falmer people have white souls, although they are known to be black for all intelligent races.

Also, if you are interested in the sad story of the snow elves, you can read (in the game) the book β€œThe Fall of the Snow Prince”.
