Steve Jobs is a man of the era. His ideas and products have transformed the world of computer technology. His presentations and sales have stirred up the world of marketing. And how does Russia perceive it? Is a Russian person ready to see a monument to Steve Jobs on his land?
Who is Steve Jobs?
Steve Jobs was born in 1955 in San Francisco, raised in a foster family. His adoptive parents Paul and Clara Jobs tried to do everything so that the boy received a decent upbringing and a good education. The college Steve chose for his after-school education was one of the most expensive. But he studied there only one semester. Then, under the influence of hippie culture, he goes to India to seek enlightenment.
Steve Jobs is the founder of the famous Apple company. This path to global leadership in the garage began. With their friend, Steve Wozniak, they created boards for computers and sold them. Later they assembled a unique computer with color graphics and a tabular calculation program. In 1977, it was the first computer in the world with such characteristics. Therefore, the company soon significantly increased its capital, twenty-five-year-old Jobs became a millionaire, and the Apple II computer became the world leader in sales.
The company was waiting for the ups and downs, loyal fans and strong rivals. But the professional life of Steve Jobs is not only Apple. It is fair to say that Jobs himself practically did not create (for this he had Wozniak and other talented acquaintances), but he always had ideas that infect others with enthusiasm and sales ability.
Jobs's character is the reason for many changes in his life
Friends and colleagues talk about Jobs as a great man with a very difficult character. In the life of Steve there were very unexpected events that, in his own words, opened up new horizons for him. In 1985, he was removed from a managerial position in his own company.
Jobs was shocked, but set out to prove to everyone that he was the best. He creates a new company, and also invests finance, effort and time in his new brainchild - the film company Pixar. Steve had a special talent in the business field. A significant contribution to world fame and growth in sales of Jobs products was made by his oratorical qualities. The presentations he gave were tremendous success. This American entrepreneur has always been able to surprise both loved ones and the general public.
Unfortunately, in 2011, Steve Jobs died, the reason is pancreatic cancer. In Budapest, in the year of his death, the world's first monument to Steve Jobs was erected.
Later, fans of his work around the world announced fees for the installation of monuments. Of course, this great man received the most recognition in his homeland.

The first monument to Steve Jobs in Russia
Despite the fact that gadgets manufactured by Apple can afford people with an income above the average, in Russia there are a lot of users of these products. In 2013, the first Russian monument to Jobs was erected in St. Petersburg. This monument was truly unique. A competition was announced for its development, of the 200 proposed ideas, the most creative was chosen.
Monument to Steve Jobs in St. Petersburg was an iPhone 4 with an LCD display. He showed photographs, a biography and quotes of an American, took photos of viewers who were suitable for him for social networks, “remembered” and “recognized” everyone who approached him, was controlled by a touch screen and worked in 4 languages. The design was made of both metal and glass. These are the main materials the company works with.
A lot of controversy caused by the sexual orientation of Jobs Tim Cook's follower arose around the monument. In 2014, the monument was dismantled, and later put up for auction and sold for 10 million rubles.
The most scandalous monument to Jobs
A fan of Apple suggested installing a monument to Steve Jobs in Novosibirsk. To do this, a fundraiser was created and a project to create a monument was developed. It was supposed to be a living monument!
The idea was to plant a Macintosh apple tree on the 13th floor of the building. A symbolic tree should be framed by a figure in the form of a lamp, symbolizing the emergence of an idea. The monument, like St. Petersburg, was supposed to represent Jobs quotes.
This idea in society caused a great resonance. The people responded to the impulse of designers, but mostly negatively. People want to see monuments to Russian craftsmen, and not invest in the memory and glory of Western entrepreneurs. The project did not receive sufficient funding and was closed.
There is no official information about other monuments to Steve Jobs in Russia.
