Hubby flowers: myth or reality? Get closer

Since ancient times, people have endowed plants with magical properties, dividing them into those that bring happiness, luck, wealth and prosperity, and those from which only expect troubles, misfortunes and frustrations. So, among the houseplants , flowers appeared - “male happiness” and flowers - “husbandin”. It is noteworthy that if "male happiness" is a very specific flower - anthurium, then several species of houseplants are called "husbands" at once . The most common owners of such notoriety are various types of ivy and vines. In the conditions of city apartments and private houses, maple ivy, or heder, wax ivy - hoya and creeper scindapsus is most often grown. Of course, one can argue about the supernatural ability to survive from the house of men in these plants, and in many respects everything depends on your belief in this and on the general mood in the family, but even these indoor flowers themselves are quite interesting specimens.

Header Ivy: an evergreen miracle on your windowsill

Hedera is one of the varieties of ivy, which among indoor crops, there are about 15 species. These indoor mugegon flowers look great like ampelous plants in hanging flower pots, as well as creeping plants if you attach any support in the pot. Then the ivy shoots will climb up and securely attach to the support using roots similar to suckers. And to make the plant easier to do, the support can be sprayed from time to time. Header dwarf hybrids are also grown as ground cover. Hybrids with a monotonous green color of the leaves tolerate the shadow well, but varieties with a colorful pattern on the leaves need more light. In summer, the header can be taken out into the fresh air, for example, on the balcony or put out the window. For wintering, these husky flowers can be transferred to a cooler room, reduce watering and spraying. The root system of the heder, like that of other vines, is underdeveloped, so large pots are not required for it. Adult plants are transplanted as necessary, when it becomes crowded in capacity. Header propagates by cuttings and layering, easily takes root.

Hoya is popularly known as a waxman. Its dense fleshy leaves and flowers exuding an amazing aroma, collected in umbrella inflorescences, immediately attract attention. Wax ivy is a delicate and fragile plant: it needs strong support, and also does not like to be touched and rearranged once again, especially during flowering. These hubby flowers are very fond of spraying and bathing: to stimulate flowering at room conditions, the shoots are regularly placed for half an hour in warm water, and an earthen lump for two hours.

Scindapsus: a luxurious variegated handsome man on your windowsill

Liana scindapsus is also a hubby-flower. Even beginner growers probably know what it looks like, since this is one of the most common vines grown in homes and offices. Scindapsus, or, as it is also called for its rapid growth, “bloody ivy” is an unpretentious plant. Being a fairly powerful and fast-growing vine, it requires a strong support. The ideal option is a support braided with coconut fiber. Most often, scindapsus is grown with a variegated golden pattern on the leaves. This variety requires brighter light, while hybrids with a uniform color of leaves can tolerate shade too.

As you can see, all these plants are quite attractive and original, but if you are really superstitious and are afraid of their negative impact on family happiness, do not rush to throw away the flower - it is better to take it to an office or other public place, where it will become an excellent decoration of the room.
