Today, many, deciding where to go on weekends or holidays, opt for an ice rink. Moreover, not only young people go there, but also older people. And this is very true: “a healthy mind is in a healthy body”.
Artificial ice skating rinks are not uncommon in Moscow . This sport and, of course, recreation so rapidly begins to gain popularity for several reasons:
- You can do it immediately, as soon as you decide to go to the rink, that is, this lesson does not require much financial investments, since you can rent skates (or buy your new ones - not so expensive).
- Before going to the ice rink, you don’t have to take care that you have some physical training or that it is completely absent. Just go and ride for fun.
People are so getting used to such a pastime that they do not want to give it up in the summer. And here an artificial ice rink comes to the rescue. Great idea! Moreover, rinks with artificial (synthetic) ice appear in Russia more and more.
Varieties of these rollers
All artificial rollers are divided into two types:
- With synthetic ice. Such skating rinks can function in any shopping center all year round. They do not need a low ambient temperature.
- With ice out of the water. Such a coating is created using special equipment. It can be equipped only in rooms in which a certain low temperature is maintained.
That is, it turns out "skating rink discord." Let's look at the terms.
What is synthetic ice
Synthetic ice is a monolithic surface created by joining sheet thermopanels, which are made on the basis of polyethylene (moreover, high molecular weight). This coating is perfect for hockey, ice skating, including figure skating, curling and short track. Moreover, for skating on such a surface there is no need to purchase special skates. Ordinary figured or hockey will be quite suitable.
On a note! Information for doubters: Skate blade sliding on synthetic ice is 90% identical to sliding on ice made from water (i.e. traditional). This is a great proof that the artificial ice rink is a very innovative project with synthetic ice. And in no way inferior to its counterpart "out of the water." When riding, you are unlikely to feel the difference.
Panel mounting methods
Artificial ice rink polyethylene sheet panels can be connected to each other in two ways:
- Using the thorn-groove-pin connection. This method is suitable for panels that are mounted not only indoors but also outdoors.
Important! The basic basis for the plates connected by the above described method can serve: asphalt, soil, concrete, tile, wooden and metal platforms. The only condition is that the base should be strong and as smooth and even as possible.
- With the help of the so-called special dovetail mount. This method is suitable for artificial ice rinks that have a perfectly flat base. As for the temperature - it should not differ in large differences. Only two conditions.
The advantages of synthetic ice
Synthetic ice has many advantages:
- The installation and operation of the ice rink with artificial ice (synthetic) is much cheaper than the analogue, for the production of which refrigeration units and water are used.
- Quick payback on the structure.
- It has high moisture resistance.
- No noise from running compressors.
- High speed of installation work due to the mobility of the plates.
- Lack of strict requirements for rooms and platforms on which ice rinks with artificial ice (synthetic) are equipped.
- The ability to give the rink absolutely any shape.
- It is environmentally friendly.
- Durability.
What is artificial ice
Artificial ice is equipped with a whole set of tubes (mats), through which cooling fluid, and, of course, water, constantly circulate. Ice appears as a result of the formation of intermediate antifreeze. Tubes (each 25 mm thick) located in a concrete or sand base are made of plastic or steel.
A bit of history
In 1876, or, more precisely, on January 7, the inhabitants of London were invited to the world's first ice rink. Naturally, this was not an open skating rink with artificial ice, but a closed one. This event took place in the Chelsea area, which was considered one of the most fashionable in the city. The rink was to the citizens' liking, and they very positively perceived its arrangement. In those days, skates were nothing more than metal skids attached to a wooden base. These riding gears were tied to shoes with leather straps or ropes.
Then, in 1881, an artificial ice rink began to operate in the city of Frankfurt. Its area was about 533 square meters. He delighted the population from August to October. And then closed and open artificial ice rinks were built with enviable constancy. Russia also did not remain aloof from this process. Throughout all times, the rink has always remained a favorite vacation spot for residents and visitors of Moscow.
Moscow pleases residents and guests of the capital with its skating rinks
It's great to pack up a fun company and go to the rink. And if it’s also a free artificial ice rink, then the joy doubles, that is, “cheap and cheerful.” And it doesn’t matter if you can ride or not. The main thing is a good company and a good time spent for health. What could be better!
