At the very beginning of Diablo II, a gamer must decide which hero of which class he will play for. You will have to choose from seven characters, each of which has special skills. All classes are interesting in their own way and demonstrate truly unique fighting styles. When playing Diablo, it is very important to decide on the tactics and style in advance, since not only the success of the passage depends on them, but also the comfort of the game. For example, if you want to rush into a crowd of enemies, withstand the most powerful blows and deal with monsters with the help of pure physical strength, then it is better to choose a powerful and muscular barbarian. And vice versa, if the ideal style of battle is to use magic when the Persian is at the same time as far from the enemy as possible, then in this case it is more profitable to play as a sorceress.
We advise you to carefully study each class presented in the game to understand which one stands out from the rest. Having chosen one character, you will have to go through each level with him and fight with each boss. That is why it is so important to choose the most suitable class for you.
Who is a necromancer?
Today we dwell in more detail on one of the classes, which bears the loud name of the necromancer. Hyde on Diablo 2 will talk about how to manage this class, and what advantages it has. In fact, necromancers are magicians, their main role is to invoke dead souls and contact with them. This is their main specialty.
Despite the fact that necromancers are considered magicians, the game still treats them as a separate class. Their magic falls into the forbidden category, as it resembles dark and evil forces. And this is not at all surprising, because in battle the necromancers try to surround themselves with various evil spirits and terrifying skeletons that have returned from the next world to fight on the side of the invoker. Because of this kind of dark magic, people distrust all members of this class. They consider necromancers similar to those from whom they themselves have to defend themselves.
Despite the bias on the part of the people, the necromancers in Diablo II are very interesting and powerful characters for whom it is pleasant to play. They protect their fragile human shell with other shells called from the world of the dead. Thus, the one who fights against the necromancer must first defeat the whole crowd of the living dead, which in themselves are a great danger to any enemy.
In addition to calling the dead, representatives of this class often use other dark magic. We are talking about various curses and poisons that the necromancers love to resort to. These additional skills not only significantly expand the range of opportunities for representatives of this class, but also give room for imagination during wagering.
Starting characteristics
Any player who selects a necromancer as their protagonist begins the first walkthrough with the following stats:
- Strength - 15.
- Dexterity - 25.
- Life force - 15 (stamina - 79; XP - 45).
- Energy - 25 (mana - 25).
Custom specifications
Now consider what the characteristics should become after the distribution of points:
- Strength - 80 or something approximate (should be enough to equip the necessary things).
- Dexterity - you can leave the starting stat or resume to the maximum block (75%). Some players even refuse to gain additional dexterity, as they consider this an unnecessary waste (after all, the necromancer is a non-contact fighter). Despite this, having a good block is still important, since it is he who can save the hero’s life in an unforeseen situation.
- Life force - increase by all remaining points. HP and stamina do not happen much.
- Energy - this stat is considered by many to be another unnecessary luxury (like dexterity). If there is not enough mana, then you can always go to the store for it. In addition to this, at each new level, necromancers gain +2 to mana. Thus, by the ninety level, the amount of mana will reach 203.
Learn more about skills.
Pumping the necromancer in "Diablo-2" has great potential. This class has 3 skill branches, two of which we mentioned earlier - this is “Summon” and “Curses”. The third branch includes Poison and Bones, which are also additional forms of spells. But first things first.
"Call" - this branch of skills is the main activity of any necromancer. It is possible that calling yourself once dead souls for help seems a bit lazy practice, but at the same time it is very safe and suitable for any battle. For players who want to develop this particular branch, special guides for "Diablo-2" for the necromancer summoner (from the English summoner) are suitable. "Call" is considered a very convenient and low-cost technique. All she requires is to raise as many corpses and skeletons from the dead as possible, and then send them to the enemy one wave after another.
As for the second branch of necromancer’s skills in “Diablo-2” - “Curses”, it is much weaker than the same “Call”. However, this does not mean at all that using it cannot effectively destroy enemies. The fact is that “Curses” are more likely an additional ability than a basic one. It is good to use it as an auxiliary force that enhances the attack of summoned beings. Curses themselves are unlikely to be suitable for an active battle, especially if it comes to a collision with a whole crowd of opponents.
And finally, the third branch, entitled Poison and Bones, reveals the necromancer's skills from Diablo 2 through an alternative approach to dark magic. Having studied these skills, the hero gains access to several unique and truly useful abilities. For example, he can inflict poison on his weapon, or use corpses as walking bombs, or slow down the enemy with special bone barriers and prisons - there are many options!
In the next part of our guide to the necromancer from "Diablo-2" we will talk more about the skills, curses and spells from each available branch.
Skills of the Summon Skills
Some useful skills for the "summoner" that should be included in your build:
- Summon skeletons. It makes it possible to surround yourself with lively minions, calling them from the other world. With increasing levels, the maximum number of resurrected increases.
- Skeleton Mastery. One of the passive skills. Gives a good bonus to the living dead, adding to their health and increasing the damage done. With an increase in the level, the supply of hp and the power of damage increase, the general condition of the resurrected improves.
- Clay Golem. The created golem will fight on the side of the necromancer until the very end, until he falls in battle. The good news is that these creatures are very, very tenacious. Golems have a large body weight, but at the same time a rather weak impact force. Increasing the character's level leads to a significant increase in hp and a small increase in power.
- Summon Skeleton Mages. A skill similar to a standard summon. The main difference here is that only magicians are resurrected, not ordinary warriors. At the same time, the summoning process takes place in random order, that is, it is impossible to predict in advance which magicians will arise from the dead. If you want to create a unit of a certain specialization, then you can use the Unsummon skill, which allows you to "unsammone" unnecessary minions.
- Resistance. Another passive skill. All summoned creatures get good resistance to magical attacks. This skill only gets better with the transition to the next levels.
Skills Curses Skills
The following skills are designed to inflict additional damage to an enemy through summoned minions:
- Amplification of damage. The main curse that increases the damage received by a group of opponents from non-magic attacks. One of the common tactics is to use this skill at the very beginning of the battle, so that the revived skeletons have an early advantage. With increasing levels, the radius of the curse increases, as well as its duration.

- Weakening. Opponents subject to this curse lose their former power and become less dangerous for some time. The progress of the skill is closely related to obtaining new levels.
- Iron Maiden. The curse causes enemies to take extra damage in response to their attacks. In this case, the damage received exceeds the damage done many times. During the leveling of the necromancer in Diablo-2, it is possible to improve this skill by increasing its duration, radius of impact and the number of damage returned.
- Horror. Another useful skill that inspires a sense of crazy fear on opponents. It is especially effective against an overly aggressive crowd or at a time when enemy forces begin to take up. “Horror” forces the enemy not only to feel fear, but also to flee the battlefield, which, when correctly timing, can radically change the course of the battle. The progress of this skill is identical to others.
- Confusion. A curse whose effect in the literal sense of the word spreads confusion and confusion in the heads of opponents. Those, in turn, begin to attack the first character that comes across, and it does not matter at all who will be at hand at that moment - your own or someone else's. It is not recommended to use "Confusion" on magicians and archers, as they can still cause you damage from a distance. The best option would be to confuse warriors and other similar classes that attack at short range. With each new level, the duration of the skill and the radius of its impact increase.
Skills of the poison and bone bones
Spells associated with a branch of poisons and bones that have a direct effect on the enemy or play a defense role (as opposed to curses acting through summoned creatures):
- Bone armor. A necromancer casts bone armor around himself that absorbs any physical attack. However, it is worth noting one rather unusual effect of such armor. The fact is that it will not cease to exist until it is destroyed by enemy attacks. If you behave very carefully during the battle and minimize damage, there is a chance to flaunt bone armor for a long time. With each new level, the skill will increase the number of absorbed attacks.
- Explosion of corpses. This spell can put a real bomb into the corpse of a defeated enemy. As a result of the explosion, all monsters that are near the epicenter take damage. Especially effective skill will be if the hero manages to destroy the enemy directly in the crowd. In this case, the explosive device will be able to hit even more targets. Mandatory boosting the radius and increasing the amount of damage done.
- Bone wall. Opponents have a temporary barrier of bones. Experienced players often place on the other side of such a wall their magicians who are trying to inflict as much damage as possible in the allotted time. Another common use of the bone barrier is to block a narrow passage and block the further path for enemy troops. With each new level, the wall will receive even greater thickness and strength.
- Bone prison. Another skill aimed at blocking the actions of the enemy. Such a prison is a narrow cage with walls of bones. Something reminiscent of another necromancer skill from Diablo-2 with the wall that we talked about earlier, but in this case, the barrier is built around the enemy, and not in any chosen place.
- Poison Dagger. A necromancer can use this spell only when he has a dagger in his hands. Upon impact, the enemy will receive not only normal damage, but also additional, which will come from magic poison. With increasing skill, the damage done to the target will increase, and time will also be added to the duration of the effect.

How to pump the necromancer in Diablo 2?
If we take into account all of the above skills and abilities available to this class, then we can offer to do first of all pumping "summoner". That is, it is to develop the skill of "Summoning", which allows you to resurrect the dead. Most of the points should be invested in “Dexterity” - this way the character will be able to summon more minions to his side. All other points are best scattered evenly, pumping "Strength" and "Vitality". Despite the fact that the necromancer guides from Diablo 2 describe this class as "rarely entering the battle", the supply of hp is useful to him in any case.
As a weapon, the hero will need a wand (rod). You can use any magic (blue) option with two sockets to choose from. In addition to the wand, the necromancer in Diablo 2 also needs a shield that would put a good block. As for the main armor, it is better to take the option with three sockets. Here you can add the desirable presence of Frostburn gloves, Marrowwalk boots, the Mara Kaleidoscope amulet, as well as a good addition in the form of any ring with a mana bonus. Such a set for the necromancer from "Diablo-2" is perfect for beginners who are just starting to learn the gameplay for this class.

Who to take as partners?
Note: this is about the base game, not about patches and mods (for example, the necromancer in Diablo 2: The Bunches of Wrath, etc.). Each hero in Diablo may have at his disposal additional assistants (mercenaries). These characters show themselves well during the battle and remain on our side until the very end, until they are killed.
Who is better to choose as a mercenary for the necromancer in Diablo 2? To answer this question, you need to be well versed in the main features of all the main classes. Knowing that the necromancer on the battlefield most needs protection and assistance in restoring hp, one can safely assume that his assistant should have just such characteristics. Therefore, the most successful version of a partner in this case is a character of the warrior class, for example, a barbarian. Such a mercenary will be able to provide the necromancer with any necessary support, be it defense, restoration of hp or additional attacking force. Do not also forget that we ourselves can increase the chances of a long existence of our partner by dressing him in reliable armor.
