Vladimir Viktorovich Orlov was born in 1936. His father worked as a journalist. He entered the faculty of journalism at Moscow State University in 1954.
Adolescence
The future writer was fond of cinema, believing that it was it that could replace the rest of the art. However, at the end of the 3rd year, Vladimir Orlov stopped developing scripts and sports. The reason for this was the health of the parents, which was shaken. After which he was hired by the Sovetskaya Rossiya newspaper as a reporter, where he took place on the fourth page. As a student in 1957, Vladimir Orlov went to Siberia. The first place of stay was Altai virgin lands, and later - the Yenisei. His graduation project described the activities of the builders of the Abakan-Tayshet road. Having successfully defended his work and graduated from university in 1959, Vladimir Orlov received an invitation from the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda.
First works
For 10 years, the writer worked in various departments of the editorial office. The activities of Vladimir Orlov was active and involved many trips. After working for some time, the writer realized that he could not express his work with essays, reports and correspondence, which is why he decided to write long works.

I had to compose at night and early in the morning, before work, because of this there were delays in the editorial office. The first work, the novel "Salty Watermelon", was published in 1963 in the journal "Youth". Art lovers appreciated it. In addition, on the basis of his novel, an adaptation was made and performances were staged in theaters. In 1965, the author was admitted to the Union of Writers of the USSR. In 1968, a second novel was published, entitled After the Rain on Thursday. Combining work in the editorial office and writing novels was very difficult for Vladimir Orlov, and he decided in 1969 to leave Komsomolskaya Pravda. However, bad times have come in the life of the writer. For almost 7 years of his work, no one has published. As Vladimir Orlov thought, he was considered unpromising. Romantic optimism had dried up by then. In the first place came the socialist mirage, which prevailed in society. Cynical and dishonest people who met their needs benefited from it.
Ideal for a writer
Vladimir Orlov is a writer who was born under the sign of Virgo and always considered himself a prudent person. He perceived the reality of that time as an inevitable given, which he could not change. He never got involved in all kinds of squabbles and scandals; he also did not like to fight. Johann Bach considered himself the ideal person for himself. For the composer, the priority was to ensure the well-being of his beloved family, to find a good job, and to drink good beer in his spare time. And in his work he strove for exaltation. While in Germany, the writer visited many habitats of Johann Bach. After some time, Vladimir Orlov realized that the German composer was the prototype of the hero Altist Danilov.
Awareness of the value of patience
Throughout the 70s, Orlov realized that in the work of any writer, patience and the ability to preserve personal identity should be in the first place. And the most important thing is to do what you love, write novels, because readers never saw the poems of Vladimir Orlov. In 1972, the writer completed work on the novel "The Incident in Nikolsky." It was published in the oldest magazine, New World. For two years, Vladimir Orlov had to live with his only hopes, which were destroyed by censorship. I had to earn a living with reviews and translation from Lezgi (for children's literature). In 1976, pretty censored, a unique novel was published by the Soviet writer. The creation of Vladimir Orlov was a household drama. Some of the writer’s nature resulted in a fantastic story about Ostankino brownie. It was published 16 years later.
Ostankino stories cycle
Orlov was very fond of science fiction, the production of “The Blue Bird” at the Moscow Art Theater and “The Nutcracker” by Grigorovich made a great impression. Vladimir Orlov did not write poems for children. Orlov's favorite writers were Bulgakov, Swift, Rabelais, Gogol, which led to the presence in his works of the genre of magical realism. The novel “Altist Danilov” went through all instances for 3 years until it was published in 1980. The public showed great interest in him, both in his native country and abroad. Thus, for Vladimir Orlov, such a success was akin to the sensations of a person who heard the sound of “copper pipes”. The next novel, The Pharmacist, which also did not come out immediately, but only after 2 years (in 1988), did not arouse much interest among the people, because it was not written for the grudge of the day.
For several years, Vladimir Orlov wrote essays. However, I realized that my own nature cannot exist without writing works. Then he began work on the novel "Shevrikuk, or Love for the ghost." The work was printed in parts, as they were written, by the Youth magazine. The last episode of the novel was completed by Vladimir Orlov in 1997, so the last part of the Ostankino stories was completed. The reason for writing "Shevrikuki ..." was the writer's own conscience. Vladimir Orlov in the late 80s worked at the Literary Institute and conducted seminars. He demanded that his students write new works, so he needed to create himself. Working with students helped the writer feel helpful.
Works of recent years
