Corrugated paper balls: master class

Corrugated paper is a material that is often used by needlewomen to create flowers, bouquets of sweets, topiary, photo albums. It makes light and beautiful interior decorations: giant pompons, garlands, balls. This decor is often decorated wedding ceremonies, birthdays and other holidays.

To transform the space, create an atmosphere at a party or a thematic photo shoot, corrugated paper balls can be made independently. This is not difficult, for the manufacture of such jewelry you will need only the paper itself, matching ribbons, scissors and a ruler. The corners of the pompom are cut according to the pattern, which is pre-made from cardboard. The blank looks like an elongated oval, it is necessary so that the edges are the same, and the pompom looks neat.

Large balls of corrugated paper: a master class

To create a ball with a diameter of 50 cm, 13 sheets of paper are needed. You can use different colors or make it plain.

The manufacturing process of the pompom will look like this:

1. We cut the same rectangles, measuring 50 x 70 cm, and carefully stack them on top of each other, aligning the edges.
2. Press the long ruler parallel to the short side and begin to wrap the edge, folding the paper 4 cm.
3. Press with your hand until an even fold is obtained, after which we turn the sheets over, trying to make sure that they do not move, and bend from the back side in the same way.
4. We repeat the procedure until we reach the end. It should be a fan.
5. Take the ribbon in tone and tie the middle of the “fan”. Instead of a strip of fabric, you can use a thin wire with a loop to quietly hang pompons on a fishing line under the ceiling and create compositions.
6. Connecting the halves, we check whether the middle is found correctly. If necessary, move the tape to the side so that the ball does not turn out to be curved.
7. Tighten the knot.
8. We put the stencil to the edge of the paper and cut the tip on it on each fold. This will help to make the edge more accurate. Repeat on the other side.
9. It remains to reveal the finished product: do it in layers. First, on the one hand, then on the other, to get it symmetrically. We pull the paper layer by layer, trying not to tear.

How to uncover a large paper ball

To make corrugated paper balls lush, you should try to open the middle by pulling the edges. It will not be easy to do this because of the many layers, therefore it is better to start straightening the pompom when one side is ready. And only after full disclosure again pull the edges. Now it remains to give the product a spherical shape: we find the middle and begin to straighten the folds, and then take it by the ribbon and shake it with force. The pompom is ready!

Create a small decorative ball

Corrugated paper balls can be made smaller by using a round foam or papier-mâché blank and glue. This method is so simple that even a child can handle it. For work, the remaining paper remaining from other products is suitable:

• cut the same strips;
• stretch them a little from one edge;
• twist the flagellum and glue on the workpiece (it is more convenient to use a glue gun);
• The next segment is folded in the same way and glued close to the previous one;
• repeat the procedure until we fill out the whole artifact.

Corrugated paper balls in the photo look better if they hang in the air. So that the finished product can be suspended, we glue to it a ribbon folded in half.

Paper balls with flowers

It’s a little harder to make floral balls from corrugated paper. For their design, you need to make special decor elements in advance. Paper flowers are created using various techniques: they are folded from petals, twisted from a long ribbon, identical circles are cut out and fastened in the center. In the manufacture of floral balls from corrugated paper, different buds can be combined to create unusual compositions.

Corrugated Paper Roses

The most popular plants for decorating decorative balls are roses. The easiest way to make them this way:

1. We take a roll of corrugated paper, cut off from it about 50 cm.
2. Pull a piece to the side, spreading the folds.
3. Fold it with an accordion to get 10 layers.
4. Take a glass or any other thing that you can circle with a pencil to make a circle. Moving it, draw a few circles.
5. We cut the circles, in the center of each workpiece we make two holes and pull the wire through them.
6. We twist the wire behind and begin to spread the petals, forming a flower.

Such buds do not even need to be glued to the foam blank, just stick the flowers close to each other, filling the entire surface. Balls made of corrugated paper can be decorated with simple double petals, cut out according to the pattern, fixing them in the center with a pin. This method is the fastest - it does not require additional fixing of parts with glue.
