Such popularity of this specialization is explained by the fact that its results are really useful and easily applied in practice. Alchemy not only helps to strengthen the characteristics of the hero, but also insures him during dangerous raids. All those who comprehended the alchemy of “VoB” were able to learn the main secret of the Philosopher's Stone, having received the power of converting some substances into others. This process is better known as “transmutation” or simply “transmouth”. The only limitation in alchemy is the time it takes to cooldown - about twenty hours.
After the professional skill of the alchemist reaches the mark of 50, he gets the opportunity to study Mixology. This passive ability provides greater effectiveness when using potions and potions prepared by the player.
Comprehension of alchemy in "VoB" includes individual skills in gathering and herbalism. If the player decided to study this profession, then he needs to find special teachers who are usually located in large trading cities at current locations.
Production Products
The main objects created by alchemists are, of course, potions with various effects. One drug will help restore health, the second will return the spent mana, or both. Usually they are prepared so that the player is not taken aback by some unexpected critical situation or a long battle. Alchemy recipes in VoB help create a wide variety of potions that can absorb enemy magic damage, enhance defensive characteristics, and much more.
As for the elixirs, this product gives the character a variety of long lasting buffs. Usually, one part of them belongs to the combat category, and the other to the protective category. The player cannot use simultaneously two types of buffs, since their effects do not complement each other, but replace.
So that buffs are not removed, even after the death of a character, it is necessary to use a special, more powerful type of elixirs - flasks, or "flags". They operate for two hours and are able to complement each other, that is, at the same time have combat and protective effects. To create such a powerful drink, the player must acquire an alchemical laboratory.
The additions of Wrath of the Lich King and Burning Crusade: what's new in alchemy?
The Wrath of the Lich King added the ability to create endless jars and potions to heal or restore mana to the original version of the game (alchemy for VoB 1. 12. And later). The use of such flasks was allowed only during PvP battles with an interval of three minutes.
Another addition that has made some changes to the profession is Burning Crusade. After using such a boiler, each member of the raid receives several potions that work to absorb magic damage. Boilers cost only five minutes and cease to be active after twenty-five uses. The ability to install the boiler goes to the character in a random order, while cooking other potions.
Transmutation Products
During transmutation, the character can use various metals, essences, as well as primordial and eternal substances. One of the most common products obtained in the transmouth process are arcanite ingots. They are created through transformation and are used in blacksmithing. Other transmutation results also include obtaining meta jewelery stones, sky fire diamonds and earth storm diamonds.
A rather interesting category of items for an accessory is made up of alchemical stones - they are also products of the transmouth and can only be used by the alchemists themselves. Along with the addition “Wrath of the Lich King” (an extension of alchemy and transmutation for “WoW” 3. 3. 5 and later), additional types of stones appeared in the game, bearing quite “speaking” names: Indestructible, Mighty, and Changeable. These artifacts can enhance not only the characteristics of the character, but also the effects of healing potions and potions with mana.
For any transmutation process, a philosopher's stone is required, which should be in the character’s inventory. If this ingredient is not available, then it can be replaced with an ordinary alchemical stone. All transmutes are limited to a common cooldown lasting twenty-three hours, but there are a few exceptions.
Other artifacts created by the alchemist
- Archium is a fairly popular ingredient that is used everywhere. Its production is necessary in order to create more valuable things.
- Reagents - a variety of varnishes and oils used in everyday life. Usually they go to fabric, leather, chain mail and plate armor, as well as to other household items.
- Runes of the moon - these items will help to acquire various additional characteristics. Their level depends on how strong the character is in alchemy. It is possible to create runes of stamina, dexterity, strength, intelligence, fortitude and other characteristics.
- Stones of the moon - they are used to strengthen equipment. The power of each stone is applicable to a certain thing. When creating this artifact, it is important to know exactly what type of stone is needed at the moment.
- Dyes - used on decorative things and for painting various objects. This is done so that one character differs from the others in a special style. The number of shades that can be created by the alchemist is limited, however, it is possible that future colors will add new colors.
- Things for the house - any alchemist will be able to furnish his home with additional items, such as special shelves or distillation cube. Such things can increase the skill of the alchemist by several thousand units.
Specializations
At level 68 of alchemy (with an increased skill of 325 points), the player opens several unique tasks. Each of them belongs to a certain specialization, from the choice of which the character can become a master of potions, a master of elixirs, and a master of transmutation.
Obtaining vocational guidance gives the opportunity (about 15%) to create four additional artifacts of the chosen specialization.
Downloading the alchemy "VoB" from level 1 to 600 according to the recipes of Warlords of Draenor
Today it is the cheapest way of pumping. First, the player must visit Dalaran or any other major city where you can find teachers of alchemy.
Due to the fact that along with Warlords of Draenor, the mechanics of garrisons appeared in alchemy, all specialization underwent a radical alteration. The use of alchemical recipes became possible already from the first level. They can be obtained from the vendor in exchange for a book with The Secrets of Draenor Alchemy. In order to craft a book, you must use a special scroll, "Treatise", which is also bought from a vendor, or knocked out from mobs. Another way to get it is a quest from a hero in a garrison.
Leveling 600-700 levels
After reaching level 600, further mastering of alchemy becomes much easier. Up to level 650, a player can create any Draenic potion that gives one of the following characteristics:
- force;
- dexterity;
- universality;
- intelligence;
- manu.
After level 650 and up to 700, pumping can occur through the recipe "Draenic Infusion of Agility" (four flame flowers and four star flowers). The recipe is also bought from the vendor for the book "Secrets of Draenor Alchemy."
Useful Tips
There is no doubt that alchemy is a useful profession for any game class. However, it is worth noting that if the character is a tank druid, then specialization in potions is hardly suitable for him. The fact is that for healing with a treating drink it is necessary to get out of a bear's appearance, and during tanking such an action can easily become fatal (the same consequences will await the remaining teammates).
Particular attention is required when buying reagents and selling their own drugs at special auctions. It happens that by such operations a player can drive himself into unpleasant losses. At more complex auctions, trading operations should be carried out taking into account the cost of "packaging".
Even if the character could not reach the level of the master of transmutation in the alchemy of "VoB", you should not give up this type of activity. With it, you can still make good money, somewhere once a day. To do this, you need to replenish the inventory with a philosopher's stone and study the market in order to know which of the transformations produces the largest profit.
During a team game, it is important to let the other teammates know about the chosen specialization - this will help them save on time (transmutes) and money.
