Certificate of good conduct - how to apply and where to get it?

A criminal record is usually required when applying for a job in another country, visa, residence permit or citizenship. This document is needed not only from the country of main residence, but also from those countries in which the applicant lived for some time or was studying (in the service) for more than six months. So, the main question - where to get a certificate of good conduct? It’s worth sorting out.

certificate of good conduct
In order to have a criminal record on hand, it must first be issued. More precisely, apply for its design. It is submitted to the Department of Information Technology, which is located at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. You can also contact your local IT department. This is done personally by the person who needs the document. You must have a passport with you.

In addition to the application, a receipt is required, which states that the services of the information service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were paid, as well as a receipt for the payment of a special form for this reference.

There are some exceptions to be aware of, although they may not be needed:

  • You can submit an application, as well as the subsequent receipt of a certificate using a proxy. Then you will need to provide a copy of the principal's passport. Sometimes a notarized power of attorney is still required.
  • Applications that are received by mail are not considered.
  • An application is considered within a period of one to 30 days (it all depends on the urgency and place of filing).
  • There is no provision for inquiries to the home address.

If a person lives outside his state, but he needs a criminal record in his native country, then it can be obtained in the following ways.

Where to get a criminal record
Apply for this at the diplomatic mission of your native state. Then the request will go through the Foreign Ministry (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). The time frame for obtaining this certificate depends on how efficient the participants in the chain called “consulate-MID-DIT” are, and also on whether legalization is necessary.

Where can I get a criminal record? You can apply in your country to UIT, OIT, DIT through an authorized person, who may be an agent, acquaintance, or relative. To obtain a document such as a criminal record, a photocopy of your passport will be sufficient. Perhaps you will also need a power of attorney, which is easy to draw up at the consulate of your country in the state where the person currently lives. How to make it?

If a person lives in the CIS or states that have entered into an agreement on legal cooperation with his country, then you can send a power of attorney, which was certified by a notary.

Where to get a criminal record
If he lives in other states, then there are other options. If the country in which the power of attorney will be drawn up is a party to the Hague Convention (10/05/1961), then it will also need to be certified by affixing an apostille. In those states that are not included in this convention, a power of attorney certified by a notary will be subject to consular legalization, which will take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. To avoid this, you can draw up this document at the consulate of your country immediately in your native language. This will exclude the legalization procedure.
