Summer is coming and beautiful female legs. What lady doesn’t want to replenish her wardrobe with something new and beautiful? You can, of course, go to the market or to the store, but this is not so interesting. Why, having the slightest sewing skills, not create something yourself? In this article, I want to talk about what a "Tatyana" skirt is, and how it can be sewn easily and simply.
What it is?
First of all, you need to understand what this product is. So, the skirt "Tatyana" is not news for most women, because everyone knows that fashion comes back from time to time. The same thing happened in this case. The skirt is not a tight-fitting, but a free product of the required length. Above can be located a belt, elastic, drawstring - everything that a woman wants. Also, the skirt can be with warehouses (of various variations) or simply assembled.
Fabric set
Before starting work, you need to select and dial the required amount of tissue. So, the product can be sewn from anything, you just have to take the fabric according to the time of year when it will be worn. Drawing and coloring also do not matter much. Everything in this version will be appropriate: the cell will not “go”, and the pattern will not “break”. In order for everything to work out in the best way, it is necessary to take twice as much tissue as the circumference of a woman's hips (if you want a finished product of slightly less splendor, you can multiply your hips by 1.6). This is necessary in order to make folds or assembly.
As for the length, it is necessary to take into account the length of the finished product (for example, 60 cm) plus allowances for the seams (10 cm each, to be sure with a margin). It will turn out 80 cm. However, if you also plan a belt (it should be cut in the same way as a skirt, according to the share), you need to calculate it: 25-30 cm (depending on its height) plus again allowances, 10 cm. Total on a skirt with a belt with a total product length of 60 cm, you need to buy 110-120 cm of fabric.
Pattern
Does the skirt require a pattern? Fans of simple sewing can breathe out: no! The product does not require any drawings on paper, everything is done immediately on the fabric without any problems or difficulties.
Cut
Now you need to start working with the fabric itself. To do this, you need to take the rectangle of the purchased fabric and lay it out on a smooth, even surface, it can be on the floor. In this version, we need two kinds of measures of a woman: hip and waist. On one side of the fabric where the waist will be located, it is necessary to form warehouses. They can be oncoming, sequential, it can just be assembly (a simpler version of sewing, which is mainly used to create children's skirts). They are fixed using basting or pins.
Now preparing the belt. Its width is taken according to the waist of the woman (plus about 5 cm on the clasp on one side). The length of the fabric is two times the desired belt (after all, it will fold twice). It is also necessary to note the place where the zipper will either be sewn in or a small cut will be made so that the woman can pass through the hips into the product. Everything is ready for the next step - sewing a skirt.
Sewing
Since our skirt is "tatyanka" - with pleats, it is first necessary to fix them. To do this, it is enough to machine one seam across the entire width of the product. Now you need to overcast the top of the skirt so that it does not crumble. This can be done on the overlock. However, if there is none, you can do with an overlock foot on a sewing machine or simply overcast the top manually with a “zigzag”, it also holds threads perfectly and prevents them from sliding.
Since the skirt "tatyanka" will be with a belt, now you need to sew it, however, having previously sewn the lock, which can be either secret or ordinary (it is better to choose it in the color of the product). The belt (the edges of which are necessarily overlocked) is sewn first with the side that is adjacent to the body of the girl. It is necessary to fold one edge of the belt and the top of the folds (face to face) and sew from the wrong side, also handle the overlap on the fastener. Next, the front of the belt is sewn. To do this, you need to tuck it and sew along the top with a neat millimeter line. That's all, the belt is sewn. It remains only to make a loop using a special foot on a typewriter and sew a button.
Bottom of the product
Now the matter has reached the final stage - processing the bottom of the product. What does the tatyanka skirt require? How to sew it neatly? As for bottom processing, there may be several options. The simplest is to tuck and stitch on a typewriter. To do this, the thread can be taken both in the tone of the product and in contrast, depending on the color. If you don’t want the seam to be visible, you can manually walk through the product with a hidden seam. And you can glue the bottom with a special tape, it is also possible. That's all, the skirt is ready.
Belt Options
However, the skirt "Tatyana" may be slightly different. "How to sew a belt a little easier?" - Here is a frequently asked question. You can just do the assembly. To do this, you need to run the widest line on the typewriter at the top of the fabric rectangle and assemble the product to the required width, gently and evenly spreading the fabric throughout the skirt. You can also make a drawstring (tuck the fabric, leaving a cavity for a well-worn belt).
As an option - a skirt "tatyanka" on an elastic band. To do this, you need to take an elastic band of the desired length so that it is stretched across the waist, stretch it across the width of the product, make a line (preferably two) and let go. Here, in general, everything is simple and without problems. It should only be noted that it is better if the elastic is wide, so it will ideally hold on to the waist of the lady.
Dress
It is possible to create a dress with a Tatyana skirt on the same principle. It will be cut off at the waist, that is, it is separately necessary to sew the skirt as described above, but without a belt. Now you just need to figure out what the top of the dress will be. There are a lot of options. So, it can be on shoulder straps, a T-shirt, closed and open. Almost any top is suitable for this style of skirt .
So, the simplest of them is a T-shirt on wide straps. To do this, you will need a lady’s chest circumference, the distance from one and the second shoulder to the waist (product length), and waist circumference. It is best to do the top of the dress according to the finished pattern of the base (if any). Tucks will be in the chest area. In this option, it is necessary to optionally calculate the neckline - what it will be (round, square, V-shaped) and what depth - and also armholes (they can be deep or go along the reach of the arm). So, if everything is cut out at will, you can start sewing the product.
First, tucks are sewn (you can’t do them, otherwise the dress just won’t sit down, as it should), then the shoulders, then the sides (the line is given on the wrong side of the product, the edges are overlocked). The easiest way to handle the armhole is with an oblique inlay, but the neck is trimmed. Now two parts are sewn together: the “Tatyana” skirt, created earlier with their own hands, and the top of the dress. To do this, the product must be turned out, folded top and bottom face to face and sew on a typewriter in a neat line near the top. Now the seams are overlocked together (it was not necessary to overlock the top of the skirt before). That's all, the dress is ready. In order to hide the seam line, you can tie the dress with a wide ribbon, it will look very cute and elegant.
Ironing
If the product is already completely sewn, this does not mean that it is ready. Now the dress is sent, as the tailors say, to the iron (it is also good not to be lazy and iron all seams after stitching different parts of the product).
The product is neatly ironed, all seams are straightened, equal. If the fabric allows, you can steam it with a steam iron. And only after that the dress is considered ready to wear.
