Siberia is endless, covered in mystery and dear. For a Russian person, land has always meant more than just a territory for living and farming. How much blood and sweat had to be shed to rightfully call one of the richest sections of the planet home! History knows many examples of heroism and self-sacrifice for the accession of Siberian open spaces. What are the tsarist and Stalinist camps!
The pearl of the center of Russia has become the third largest city in the country - Novosibirsk. The severe Siberian character, a wide soul and intelligence brought up in a difficult climate are reflected in every building, in every bridge across the Ob and in every building of the famous Akademgorodok. And since it is customary to build cities near the water, Novosibirsk was no exception - he couldnβt reach Peter by the number of canals, but the rivers in Siberia are one of the deepest and longest in the world.
Rivers - Decoration of Siberia
The Siberian pride is an extensive network of rivers, lakes and tributaries. Against the background of a harsh climate, water bodies become even more attractive and mysterious. The rivers in Novosibirsk, covered with thick ice in the winter and blooming rapidly in the summer, are deservedly popular with both careless lovers to relax with their families by the water and practical fishermen.
And Novosibirsk has something to boast of: the longest river in Russia and the second in Asia - the Ob - flows through the city, forming the landscape and allowing citizens to spend leisure time, practically without leaving home. Even the rivers in Novosibirsk are fan-shaped from small tributaries, streams and streams, such as Tula on the left bank, Plyushchikha, Inya and Kamenka from the right bank. Let us dwell on them in more detail.
Ob River in Novosibirsk
The Ob is born in Altai, where Biya and Katun merge together, forming a calm stream, carrying waves across infinite Siberia. After 3,650 km, the river smoothly passes into the Gulf of Ob, which precedes the cold Kara Sea. The basin area is 2,990 thousand km; it is the largest in Russia. And even if by the abundance of the Ob it was slightly inferior to the Yenisei and Lena, this will not confuse the locals and will not make them love their native shores less.
The Ob is not only pleasing to the eye, it works no less than the population of its environs. In the southern part is the Novosibirsk reservoir, formed by a dam, on which the city hydroelectric station stands. The energy produced is sufficient not only for Novosibirsk, but also for nearby settlements.
Residents nicknamed the Reservoir the Ob Sea. It has become a place of mass relaxation. Countless recreation centers, motels and wild beaches attract Siberians all year round. In addition to entertainment, the Ob can offer interested rich fauna - about 50 species of fish live in the river, the most valuable of which are sturgeon, sterlet and muksun.
Tula River in Novosibirsk
But there are stories that one does not have to be proud of. These include the fate of a small, only 72 km long river Tula. Thanks to the annual floods and irresponsible citizens who do not distinguish the coast from the landfill, the small but proud river almost disappeared from the map. This river, starting its run near the village of Stepnoy and merging there with its older sister Verkh-Tula, flows into the Ob from the island of Rest.
But it is not all that bad. In 2009, the government came to its senses and allocated 50 million rubles for the improvement of the facility. Tula has changed - the riverbed has been cleaned, the nearby territory has been ennobled, and a recreation area has been deployed near the third bridge. Today Tula is one of the best places for leisure.
Plyushchikha
From the north-east to the south the city is crossed by a small (12 km), but very picturesque Plyushchikha. Fueled by springs, the Plyushchikha River in Novosibirsk flows through the sparsely populated Oktyabrsky District, including the Gusinobrodsky Cemetery and Forest Lake, artificially created in the Plyushchikhinsky microdistrict, under construction in its ecosystem.
When the construction of the new housing estate began, the river was also not spared - the banks were strengthened, the riverbed was expanded and a full-fledged beach with attractions was built. Boats, sports equipment in summer and ski rental in winter are now available to everyone.
Inya - the right tributary of the Ob
The source of the river is located on the Taradanovsky ridge of the Kemerovo region. The Inya River in Novosibirsk has well-developed neighborhoods with many fields, pastures and recreation areas. Over the 660 km that the river flows through the Novosibirsk Region, many tributaries flow into it. Ur, Kosma and Bochaty are the largest.
In Soviet times, a hydroelectric station was operating near the village of Borovoye, providing energy to nearby villages. Today the station is dismantled.
Near the town of Belovo dam forms a reservoir. Locals affectionately call it the Belovsky Sea. The pond is used for recreation and fishing - the waters abound with fish. This is facilitated by water protection zones, which serve to monitor the state of the river.
Take care of the river, friends
During the years of perestroika, there was no time to think about the cleanliness of water bodies. And the rivers in Novosibirsk fell into decline: waste was dumped into the water, and the banks resembled a city dump. You should not blame people - when children have nothing, itβs not with their hands to protect the river.
The difficult time has passed, the children began to eat better, and the time has come for the surrounding world. The government, combined with private organizations and volunteers, actively cleans and ennobles small and large rivers in Novosibirsk. However, for work of this scale, the city budget is not enough. Therefore, new horizons are opening for state cooperation with the private sector.
The first step has already been taken: instead of hiding water bodies in pipes and burying them underground, developers began to use the proximity of the equipped river as an additional advantage of the project.
