It was in this city, being very young, Viktor Rozov realized that he wanted to connect his life with the theater.

After graduation, the future screenwriter entered the Kostroma theater school. But when the war began, he was called to the front, from where a year later he was demobilized due to a serious wound. "Travel to different cities"

When the war began, Viktor Rozov, like his famous hero from the movie “Cranes Are Flying,” did not think for a moment about what he should do. And so already at the end of June he was at the front. Experienced Rozov outlined in his autobiographical book, entitled "Journey to Different Cities."

After receiving a serious wound, Rozov stayed in the hospital for several months. And at that time, when he was suffering from unbearable pain, the poet suddenly woke up in him. He wrote three to four poems a day. But, unfortunately, only a few have survived, and even that is only in the memory of Viktor Sergeyevich. These poetic works were not published.

Dramaturgy

Rozov studied at the Literary Institute for two years. And then he went to Alma-Ata at the invitation of Natalia Sats. In this city, they jointly organized a children's theater. Only after returning to Moscow and writing the first play did Rozov continue his studies at the institute.

The first productions based on the works of Rozov took place in the late forties. In 1949, the Soviet playwright wrote the play “His Friends”. Then the work “Pages of Life” was created. In his work, Rozov Victor Sergeevich preferred the image of a highly moral person who is able to sacrifice his own interests for the sake of a lofty goal. He created a series of characters. But at the same time he created heroes of about the same age and circle.

In the fifties, Viktor Rozov wrote plays mainly for the Central Children's Theater. In collaboration with Sovremennik, one of the best productions of the Soviet period appeared. We are talking about the play "Eternally Alive." He wrote it long before it was read by the chief director of one of the best Moscow theaters.

Scenarios

Based on the works of Rozov, fourteen films were shot. For each of them, the playwright himself, of course, wrote the script. In 1956, the movie "Goodnight" was released. The plot of the film is the story of a Moscow family. Rozov in his work preferred the depiction of the life of young people, since the formation of personality and the problem of choosing one way or another were the most interesting for him, as a playwright.

The script for the movie "Cranes Are Flying" brought glory to its author. This film was shot years after Rozov's debut film work. Then the scripts for the films “Noisy Day”, “Unsent Letter” were written. Twice Rozov worked in collaboration with foreign writers. The latest film work of Viktor Rozov was the script for the film "Riders".

Eternally Alive: A History of Writing

Romanticism and patriotic beliefs were inherent in post-war youth. And the play “Eternally Alive”, which Rozov wrote during the war, was in perfect harmony with the mood that prevailed in the country. But, strangely enough, the first production, which took place in the playwright’s hometown, did not cause a special response from the audience.

More than ten years later, the director Oleg Efremov read the play. Rozov slightly reworked the dramatic work, removing episodes that would be inappropriate in the Sovremennik Theater. The premiere took place in 1956.

Film

“Cranes are flying” is one of the most moving Soviet paintings. Unlike most films created in the fifties, in the foreground in the plot of this film was not the victory of the Soviet people, but the fate of individual people. Love and fidelity are the main theme of the work of Victor Rozov.

In cultures of different countries, cranes symbolize the beginning of a new life. That is why this technique was used in the script of the film. The plot focuses on the fate of a young man who has not returned from the front. He is opposed by another character - the cousin of the protagonist. This man chose not to go to the front, having obtained armor by dishonest means.

Soviet playwright

The final scene in the movie “Cranes Are Flying” became one of the best in the history of Soviet cinema. In the final of the picture, according to the scenario of Rozov, the heroine expects her lover at the station. But from his friend he learns that he died. And the flowers that were intended for the dead soldier, she gives to the front-line soldiers. Cranes fly by suddenly in the sky. And it seems that this is a sign that Soviet soldiers who did not return in 1945 did not leave forever. They are forever alive.
