All Blizzard fans know the attention of developers to the details in the development of each game. Therefore, in each new product at all levels - in the plot, in the characters, in the locations and objects of the players, there will be many pleasant references to previous studio games.
In the Diablo slasher series, there are many such references. There are fairly standard ones, there are simply funny jokes, and there is a story three games long. The shepherd’s staff is directly related to it.
Cows, many cows ...
Some time after the first Diablo was released, a legend appeared in the community of players that if you click on cows in a certain location in a certain sequence, a secret level will open. Blizzard denied these rumors, but in the next part, Diablo 2, a secret cow level appeared ... yes, there were very, very many cows.
In Diablo 3, they decided not to leave the successful formula with a secret level, but, in order not to repeat themselves, this time the pony inhabited the location. In general, the shepherd's staff in "Diablo 3" is needed to get to them.
How to get a staff?
By itself, as a weapon, a staff is not a valuable item (since it has a catastrophically low damage rate). However, despite this, the forces to find the ingredients for the assembly will have to spend decently.
So, in order to somehow collect the shepherd’s staff in Diablo 3, you first need a recipe according to which our blacksmith Hedrig Imon must forge the staff. The recipe can be obtained by killing Izual (Act 4 - Heaven, the last boss in front of Diablo himself). The chance of a staff falling out is quite small, so most likely you will have to make several calls.
After studying the recipe, it turns out that in order to collect it, you need five ingredients.
- Black mushroom. You should look for it in the first act, in the location "Cathedral: Level 1".
- Tibia of Leoric. It is also located in the first act, in the location "Leoric's Estate": in one of the side rooms there is a fireplace, and from there with some probability you can get this item.
- Bell of Virt. In the second act, in Caldea, in the "home" location of the "Mysterious Camp" from a merchant, the Jumper is bought for 100,000 gold.
- Liquid rainbow. In the second act, in the location "Dalgur Oasis" it is necessary to get a quest from the NPC alchemist Raven; after the start of the quest, a passage to the Mysterious Cave location will open behind him. A fluid rainbow is out there.
- Muttering gem. This is the third act. On one of the two battlefields (locations separated by a bridge) are "Ice Caves". They need to find a certain legendary boss - Chiltaru, from which the item will drop.
Done! Now all the ingredients are carefully treated by the blacksmith, and for 50,000 gold you have a shepherd’s staff in your hands, mockingly saying: “In all of Sanctuary, only one creature is not ashamed to wear it” (alluding, of course, to the cow).
How to get to the secret level?
What to do next?
In the first act, in one of the initial locations ("Starotristramskaya road") you need to get to the crevice, which is located near a sharp turn. Now that you have the staff in your hands, there stands the Cow King, the King of Cows.
This is the boss of the secret level of the previous part - Diablo 2. After a short conversation (during which the player is promised a place “full of happiness and rainbow”), he disappears, and the crevice turns into a portal, sparkling with all the colors of the visible spectrum. When passing through the portal, you find yourself at the treasured level, consisting of green lawns, talking flowers, teddy bears, ponies and acid-bright colors.
The secret level does not carry any plot burden and is only entertaining in nature. Accordingly, the items that can be obtained here are also useful only as a joke: a rainbow sword, a hamburger ... In the game, the latter is registered as a dagger weapon. Do not wonder.
Important clarifications
Unfortunately, the "farm" (the need for several dozens of times to re-pass the same episodes, killing the same monsters in the hope of getting the right thing) - the scourge of Diablo 3. He did not pass by the pony level: to to get each of the six components of the staff (including the recipe), it will take a lot of time. Well, at least the portal opens the first time.
It should also be noted that all objects interact with each other only within the framework of one level of complexity. For example, from the ingredients obtained at the easy level, it will not be possible to make a staff at a level more difficult, and with the help of a staff at a difficult level it is not possible to open a portal at the easy level. So do not change the settings and adhere to the same indicators throughout the history.
