As soon as people call willow! Willow, rakita, vine, talnik ... All these names refer to one plant from the Willow family. Songs are written about a beautiful tree, legends go about it. Iwushki usually prefer moist places, but there are those that grow in dry places or in the forest among other trees. In general, all willows are divided into two main types: treelike and shrubby. The latter are often called a talnik. This name is most often found in crosswords and scanwords ("shrub willow - 7 letters"). But talnik is only one of the varieties of a beautiful shrub from the Willow family.
Shrub willow
Despite the common name, plants are very diverse. From willow branches weave baskets, make furniture, make funny wicker crafts. Some tree species grow so fast that a sprout planted in the ground can grow up to three meters only during the summer. Shrub willow is extremely tenacious. She first moved to conflagration, easily grows along roadsides, near the railway track and dried up rivers. Shrub willow can "live" in the mountains, the Arctic, in the Far North - wherever there is even a small piece of land. Some bushes are quite tall. This is a rod-shaped willow (it is also white-thawed, a bodywork, or a vine), a yellow willow (hook), and a blueberry willow. They grow throughout Eurasia, but never become very tall, although they grow to one meter. However, not these plant species are the most interesting.
Shrub
Perhaps the most unique shrub willow grows in the rocky mountains of America, in our Siberia, in the Arctic, and other cold regions. They call it dwarf, but even this word is an exaggeration. Growth of an adult ivushka sometimes does not exceed 2.5 centimeters. Interestingly, their leaves can be the same size. Equally tiny is a small shrubby willow net. It grows in the Arctic tundra and is easily rooted in rubble, stones, and is adjacent to lichens. This species is very fond of deer. In summer, they enjoy eating leaves, and in winter, they dig out frozen branches from under the snow.
Decorative willow
- Goat willow. It was bred specifically for landscape design. In early spring, long, silvery, earring-smelling spring inflorescences appear on willow. After a warm winter, they appear already in late March.
- Spring willow leaves pleases others with delicate pearl-gray leaves. Only in the middle of summer foliage is painted in the usual green color.
- There are shrubby willows that retain the smoky color of foliage until the fall. This is a willow creeping silvery and a willow shaggy.
- Alpine willow blooms even before leaves appear on it. This shrub feels great on rocky slopes, so it can often be found between blocks of large alpine hills.
- Sakhalin willow in Germany was called the dragon tree because of the bizarre, winding, snake-like shoots.
In park design, not only shrubs are used, but not only babies are found among willows. So, white willow grows up to 25 meters, and it can often be found in classic parks. Huge branches can completely replace the gazebo.
